A Publication for the Members of Notre Dame FCU Fall 2014 Mortgage Services Moves to its New Bittersweet Location! and ensuring a hassle-free transition. The team works with members to assist with the mortgage process while also servicing other financial needs such as a new checking account, auto loan or home equity loan. The Notre Dame FCU Mortgage Experience is Different and Better The Notre Dame Federal Credit Union Mortgage Services team continues to expand and grow, and after comprehensive analysis it was determined that the best way to provide mortgage service to our members was to expand our Mortgage Services team with a new location and bigger facility at our Bittersweet location. The Bittersweet Branch ATM on the exterior of the building remains available 24/7, however walk-in and drive-up banking is no longer offered. “Mortgage has been key to Notre Dame FCU growing its assets under management by 10% over the last four years and we expect that growth to continue into the future,” said Director of Mortgage Services Matt Highbarger. The new center provides room for additional staff members as well as providing private meeting space for members to meet with mortgage lenders, offering a higher level of service to members. New to the Mortgage Service Center is the Concierge Services Team! This new service focuses on simplifying members moving their finances from other institutions Unique Mortgage Concierge Service – A Team Approach to Financial Affairs Mortgage members receive both the assistance of a dedicated Mortgage Loan Originator and an additional Mortgage Concierge partner who serves as an expert on all things Notre Dame FCU. Experience and Market Knowledge Our team has decades of cumulative experience and market knowledge to give members a positive mortgage experience. A Fresh Perspective TOM’S CORNER Dear Fellow Members, I hope this note finds you well. As I have been sharing with you over the past several quarters, 2014 has been earmarked as the year that our credit union completes its transformation from a caterpillar into a butterfly. Due to significant investments of time and money, we are now able to provide you with the financial tools necessary to prosper in the 21th century. It all comes down to this – more choices for you. In addition to our branch network, you can now get top-notch service through our Shamrock Center (call center), online banking and our mobile applications. Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) is also now available, so you can take pictures of your checks and deposit them without coming to a branch. For our members living outside the Michiana area, our shared branching network has grown to more than 5,000 physical locations plus 32,000 surcharge-free ATMs. Through utilization of electronic documents and electronic signatures, we can now lend money in all 50 states without delays resulting from “snail mail.” Our new core system has significantly improved integration with our online banking and billpay systems, also providing a more member-friendly experience. Fewer log-ins are required because of this integration as well. I’m also excited to announce that in November we will be completeing the upgrades to our credit card program in order to give you more choices. We’re eliminating the separate website and log-in to see credit card transactions, balances or to set up payment arrangements. Going forward, it all will be done from inside our Online Banking website, NotreDameFCU.com. Another improvement will be your credit card statement arriving along with your monthly membership statement. Eliminating a separately-issued credit card statement not only makes managing your banking more convenient, but it also is good for the environment – especially if you are enrolled in e-statements! As part of this transition, your 1% Visa Platinum cash rebate will be paid out one month early, on your October credit card statement. Beginning in November, our 1% cash back program will be replaced with a robust points program, called Rewards!. Our new Rewards! program will award points for purchases and will provide you with significantly more redemption options than the old system. With Rewards!, you can redeem points for merchandise, travel discounts, trip experiences, gift cards to your favorite merchants, or even pre-paid Visa cards. Look for more information coming about our new Visa Platinum Rewards! program in your mailbox, email, online and in social media. As I celebrate my 4th anniversary with Notre Dame Federal Credit Union, the system-wide improvements have made us a more vibrant and forward-looking financial institution. It has not occurred overnight and was the result of multiple initiatives, many occurring simultaneously. Many thanks to the scores of Notre Dame FCU partners who worked long hours and many weekends to ensure these projects concluded successfully. Our transformational work is nearly complete and with your continued support and loyalty, our future together is very, very bright. Thank you all for being part of the Notre Dame FCU family. Thomas J. Gryp, President/CEO tgryp@NotreDameFCU.com 2 800/522-6611 • NotreDameFCU.com Our CEO in a Kilt? Tell Me it Ain’t So! As part of the Michiana-area Ronald McDonald House fundraising efforts, local businessmen were asked to set aside their pride, don a kilt and traverse around town, asking people to vote for them in the 5th Annual Men in Kilts Contest. Never shy to take on a worthy cause, Notre Dame FCU President/CEO Tom Gryp exchanged his pants for a kilt and hit the campaign trail. The experience had both its highs and lows. Most would agree that the “low” for Tom was when he threw out the first pitch, in his kilt, at a Silver Hawks baseball game … and bounced it several times to the catcher. Did we also mention it was the day of the Notre Dame FCU Picnic at the ballpark with all of the employees watching? Double Ouch! However, the effort was worth it. Tom’s campaign raised over $47,000 for the Ronald McDonald House. Let’s just hope he doesn’t take up dancing for the next fundraiser!!! Thanks to all of the members who contributed at the branches!
