sciences, emerging implant technologies, indispensable patient evaluation, risk assessment,
treatment planning and case selection information, techniques for management of soft and hard
tissues during implant surgery, oral soft tissue grafting and perio-plastic surgery procedures to
enhance periimplant and periodontal soft tissue stability and esthetics, practical and predictable
hard tissue ridge augmentation techniques to allow implant placement at deficient sites, a
systematic approach for evaluation of esthetic patients, evidence based and biologically acceptable
esthetic implant treatment protocols for achieving and maintaining long-term esthetic results,
interdisciplinary management of single, multi-tooth and full arch complex esthetic dental implant
reconstructions, vital evidence based clinical information required to avoid and manage general,
esthetic and intra-operative surgical implant complications, and a wealth of practical tips and clinical
pearls from one of the most experienced implant surgeons and recognized educators in the world!
Our 5-day, 31.5-CE hour didactic program features extensive video surgery presentations and formal
question and answer periods providing an interactive forum for step-by-step learning of essential and
advanced implant surgery techniques. Case based learning methodology used in each topic specific
program ensures that participants will be able to immediately assimilate didactic and clinical information into their practices. While each program builds on the information presented on the previous
days, flexible program options allow you to customize your learning experience according to your level
of experience and educational needs.
Optional workshops offer hands-on surgical skills training, prosthetic training for surgeons, vital case
presentation and marketing information. Our Regenerative Techniques and Technologies Forum and
Digital Dentistry Workshops provide cutting edge information making yesterday’s impossibilities the
commonplace realities of today’s successful dental implant surgery practice. Although an elaborately
detailed course workbook provides an invaluable future reference source, participants will gain
maximum benefit from reading Dr. Sclar’s textbook: Soft Tissue and Esthetic Considerations in Implant
Therapy (Quintessence 2003) prior to the course.

IMMEDIATE DENTOALVEOLAR RESTORATION – IDR
Immediate-loaded implants in compromised alveolar sockets
Dr. José Carlos Martins da Rosa
Dr. Ariadene Cristina Pertile de Oliveira Rosa
Dr. Marcos Alexandre Fadanelli
Single-tooth replacement in the esthetic zone has been one of the most common indications for dental implant
placement. Compromised teeth are removed using atraumatic principles and immediately replaced by an implantsupported provisional restoration, with excellent esthetic, biological, and functional results.
However, in cases of compromised sites with bone loss/gingival recessions, the clinical scenario presents a different
dilemma. Until now, all developed surgical recommendations required long-term treatment with possible undesirable
complications in the tissue architecture.
The Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration (IDR) is a technique established to broaden indications for immediate loading
on individual teeth. In this way, tissue losses with varied extensions are reconstructed in the same surgical session of
implant placement and provisional crown installation, reducing the number of interventions and keeping predictability on
esthetic aspects.
The IDR protocol was developed six years ago from the need to minimize the treatment time and
morbidity of reconstructive procedures used in these cases. It was also the theme of the book of the
same name launched in Portuguese language in 2010 and in Spanish language in 2012, by Santos
Publishing (São Paulo – Brazil), and it is soon to be launched in English in the fall of 2012, by
Quintessence Publishing.
This course will discuss the scientific basis, the step by step technique and indications. The IDR, which advocates
minimally invasive flapless procedures, is presented as a viable and reproducible alternative.

Conference Testimonials
“Tony is fantastic. Great course. Worth every penny.
Very good handout and room for notes. Well run
course. I especially appreciate honesty, as regards to
showing less than optimal cases, so that we can avoid
making the same mistakes.”
Thomas Butts, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
(Brighton, MI)
“Best course I have ever attended! Period.”
Stephen F. Molpus (North Little Rock, AR)
It has been several months since I attended your
course in Miami. I can only say that it was one of the
best several days I have spent on continuing
education. Having a few of my staff present has been
a definite advantage. While I was aware of and
performed the principles in the course, your lectures
and hands on workshops has been extremely
beneficial and has indeed taken my implant practice
to a new level. Thank you.
Dr. Marvin Slott, OMS (Gainesville, FL)
“This is my first, in many lectures, I have attended that
a surgeon has admitted his misfortunes. I respect
Dr.Sclar with his candidness. Excellent, well integrated
course, it comes full circle. Would highly recommend it.”
Yoric, J.S. Change (Leominister, MA)
