Lighthouses of Maine GreatShipwrecks of the Maine Coast, and The Lighthouse
Handbook: New England. He’s a past president and historian for the American Lighthouse
Foundation. Look for his new book in 2016, The Lighthouse Handbook: West Coast.
Bio for Gene Torbek: Gene is the lighthouse historian and guide aboard light tours out of
Bar Harbor for five years. He is a retired Navy Officer, has traveled the world on ships, and
owns an extensive model lighthouse collection.
