Bills Collections
In a Business Conference held on February 28 and
March 1, 2013, the top management strongly emphasized to need to increase the number of Utility
Bills collection.
The message was shared with the branches at a
grass root level and a healthy competition among
Branches and Areas was encouraged. As a result,
field was very motivated and a significant increase
of approximately 40% in number of utility bills
collection was witnessed over last year.

During the passing out ceremony of Management
Trainees batch XXV held in a local hotel, the top
management, as a token of appreciation and
recognition awarded shields to the top performing
branches. One top branch was selected from each
Zone and shields were awarded to these top four
branches and their respective Branch Managers
received the same from Mr.Qumail R. Habib, Executive Director, Mansoor A Khan, Group Head, and
Mr. Aftab Hussain, Head-TMD.

Successful IBP Superior Qualification (ISQ) Diploma
candidates Recognized
At the same event, the senior management also acknowledged the effort put in by the staff who have successfully cleared
the ISQ Diploma Examination-2013, including awards for the top performers in the exam. In all, a total of 25 candidates successfully completed the diploma examination.

September 17, 2013.

ARL achieves financial close for upgradation project
Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) has achieved financial close to part-finance its refining up-gradation project. A consortium of
banks led by Bank AL Habib Limited, Meezan Bank Limited, Faysal Bank Limited and Allied Bank Limited acted as Lead Advisors and Arrangers to raise Rs 22 billion for debt requirement of ARL Up-gradation Project.
The project comprises of Preflash unit, Naphtha Isomerization unit, Diesel Hydro Desulphurization (DHDS) unit and expansion of existing Captive Power Plant. The finances have been arranged through a combination of Conventional and Islamic
Finance structures. The tenor of finance facilities is 12 years including grace period of 2 years. The Letters of Credit for offshore supplies and services amounting in aggregate of $143 million have also been established.
Installation of Preflash unit will increase ARL's refining capacity by 10,400 barrel per day thus increasing the production of
vital middle distillates. Isomerization unit will enhance production of motor gasoline by 20,000 metric tons per month while
DHDS unit will enable ARL to produce Euro-II compliant low sulphur diesel. Speaking on the occasion, Adil Khattak, Chief
Executive Officer, ARL said that it is a historic day for ARL. This project would, prove to be of immense value not only for
ARL but also for the country. He appreciated the efforts of both ARL and consortium of bankers for concluding this financial
close and hoped that refinery up-gradation project would be completed within the agreed timeframe.

Textile exports up 15.35pc in September 2013 to USD 1.27bln. FY exports
of all goods/services at USD 24.75bln and imports at USD 39.82bln

Free Life Insurance
Bank AL Habib has recently launched the AL Habib Apna Individual Current Account, specifically geared to meet the
needs of individuals and professionals. The Account offers
Free Life Insurance for its valued customers and there is no
requirement of minimum balance limit for opening and
maintaining the Account. AL Habib Apna Individual Current
Account also offers various free facilities to its customers
such as ATM Card, Online Banking, SMS Alerts, Pay Orders, E
-Statement and Internet Banking.
An extensive marketing campaign was initiated in October
encompassing TV, Press and Billboards etc to create awareness for the launch and apprise customers of the unique

Bank AL Habib wins Best Mid-Sized Bank Award by CFA
The 10th Annual Excellence Awards Ceremony
was held at the Marriot Hotel, Karachi on October 9, 2013 to acknowledge the outstanding
work done by the financial and corporate community during 2013.
The Excellence Awards were initiated by the
CFA Association of Pakistan seven years ago in
order to help raise the industry’s standards of performance. The initiative has earned CFAAP the “Innovation
Award” by the CFA Institute, and similar events are now
being conducted by other CFA societies worldwide. This is
the fourth consecutive year Bank Al Habib has won the
award for the Best bank in the mid sized category.
