Eglin Golf Course Welcomes
New PGA Professional
Story & Photo by Joshua
Bausch, 96 FSS Marketing
The management and staff of the Eglin Golf Course recently welcomed
Jerry "Cappy" Cappadona as their new Head Golf Professional and
Tournament Director.
Cappy is a "Class A" golf pro with the Professional Golfers' Association
of America, having completed the PGA's Professional Golf Management
Program—a multi-level course designed to make industry leaders of its
students through correspondence and in-residence studies, real-world
experience, and rigorous testing.
Now at Eglin, Cappy is eager to contribute his knowledge and experience
to bringing fresh new ideas and programs to the Eglin golf community.
His main focus is on instruction.
"My vision is for an all-encompassing teaching program," says Cappy.
"From beginner to advanced, child to senior."
Cappy believes the future of Eglin's Golf Course is about training future
golfers and passing on the love of the game to its newest players.
Cappy is looking to bring new opportunities to seasoned golfers as
well. His plans include classes and tutorials on selecting the proper
equipment, offering instruction on how to do one's own club fitting and
repair, and utilizing video technology in providing swing evaluations.
