THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF
ADVENTURE AWAITS IN
BOONE, NC
New aerial adventure park beside Tweetsie Railroad.
A family fun attraction just opened in the Boone area, and it’s located right
next door to Tweetsie Railroad!
High Gravity Adventures is an aerial park — a playground in the sky. It has
more than 75 aerial elements strung between massive poles at four different
levels above the ground. Depending on your age — or your child’s age —
you can find yourself anywhere from 15 to 50 feet in the air!
Visitors have the freedom to climb through a maze of cargo nets, aerial
bridges, tight-rope walks, swinging foot loops, floating platforms, spider
webs, and many more unique challenges. Great option for groups, too!

Aerial park is local company’s first local project.
Although Challenge Towers has been in business for nearly 20 years,
the company (based just outside Boone) had never built a major project
in its home county until creating High Gravity Adventures this spring.
Challenge Towers has constructed aerial courses and ziplines across
the world, including such notable locales as India, Jamaica, St. Lucia,
Ecuador and Mexico. Recently, the company partnered with UNICEF on
The Jamaica Project, a philanthropic project supporting youth
development in southern Jamaica.

Brewers craft a new industry — one pint at a time.
North Carolina’s craft beer craze is in full effect in the Boone area. The
High Country has some of the best new breweries in the South. The lineup
includes Lost Province, Appalachian Mountain Brewing Company, Blowing
Rock Ale House and Beech Mountain Brewing Company. These breweries
not only make great ales, they are philanthropic and socially conscious.

4 Diamonds for marriage of fine dining and comfort food.
For the eighth consecutive year, The Gamekeeper Restaurant has received
a four-diamond rating from AAA. It is one of only three eateries in Western
North Carolina to receive that distinction in 2015.
The Gamekeeper has been described as the “perfect marriage of fine dining
and comfort food.” Although the restaurant can accommodate vegetarians,
it’s not a place of haute cuisine. You will leave sated and satisfied by your
carnivorous experience.

Grammy winner to kick off Appalachian Summer Fest.
On June 27, Grammy-winning country artist Kacey Musgraves kicks off the
31st edition of An Appalachian Summer Festival. Held on the Appalachian
State campus, the festival has emerged as a destination for visitors from
around the nation who are attracted by world-class arts programming, cool
summer temperatures, and the small-town friendliness of Boone. The festival
is one of only a few in the South with a “multi-arts” focus. Visitors fill days
with museum visits, sculpture tours, artist competitions, lectures and workshops, and in the evenings, take in performances by the world’s finest artists.

Zip, zip, hooray! Boone is home to two exhilarating zip tours.
Sky Valley Zip Tours and Hawksnest Zip Lines are two great options for zipline
fun in the Boone area. Both are located less than 15 miles from downtown
Boone, with each providing a unique experience.
Sky Valley is more of a canopy tour, zipping through old-growth Appalachian
forests, with one super zip across a valley. Hawksnest’s lines traverse terrain
that is more open, going over a former golf course and ski resort. Hawksnest
has two separate tours to choose from.
