About Saflok Messenger Lens
Saflok Messenger Lens is a wireless system providing 2-way communication between the hotel
electronic door locks and the front desk. The door locks can issue alerts, update keycards,
perform room changes and communicate events such as ‘room ready’, ‘door ajar’, and ‘wandering
or standing intruder’ as they occur.

Integrating Saflok Messenger Lens with the EcoSmart System means maintaining and enhancing
your current electronic door locks by allowing them to communicate within the EcoSmart
system of thermostats, occupancy sensors and light switches over a secure Zigbee network.

The integration combines the security and guest convenience of the door locks, with the
EcoSmart benefits of energy savings, climate control and lighting.
Saflok integration with Telkonet’s EcoSmart network occurs at the Zigbee level. All
communications for the Saflok Messenger Lens are forwarded from individual locks over Zigbee
to the EcoCommander. Standard IP networking connections allow communication between
the Saflok Messenger Lens Server and the EcoCommander to complete the integration at the
server level. This provides end to end communication and provides full functionality of the
Messenger Lens system over a Telkonet network.

Seamless Integration
Network Requirements
• Static IP’s on Saflok Messenger Server and EcoCommander recommended
• Static private IP possible (with appropriate port forwarding and firewall policy provided by site’s firewall administrator)
• Dynamic IP not recommended
Saflok/Telkonet Firewall/Network Gateway Rules
• EcoCommander outbound to Saflok IP (destination port 27001/tcp)
• Saflok Server outbound to EcoCommander IP (destination port 27001/tcp)
• SSL option available where required
