With the Homestay Application Form please enclose : • Homestay Placement Fee • A separate letter of introduction to your host family • Photos of you and your family • Once you have been accepted for a Homestay, half of the Homestay fee must be paid prior to your departure. The balance for the second semester must be paid by December 1st. 4 MAIL OR EMAIL Mail your package to Red Deer Public Schools International Services. 5 RED DEER PUBLIC SCHOOLS HOW TO PAY Program fees are set out in the schedule of fees enclosed. Fees can be paid via Visa, MasterCard, Bank transfer or signed travellers cheques payable to Red Deer Public Schools. 6 MEDICAL INSURANCE Canadian medical insurance is required. 7 WHAT TO DO NEXT Upon receipt of your completed application package and application fee, we will provide you with an official Letter of Acceptance to Red Deer Public Schools. You will need to use this Letter of Acceptance in order to apply for a Study Permit from Citizenship and Immigration Canada. You may do this through the Canadian Embassy in your country. You may be required to pass a medical examination to obtain a study VISA. Once you have your VISA, reserve a plane ticket to Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. You should plan to arrive one week prior to the start of school. Please send us a copy of your travel itinerary. You will be met at the airport when you arrive. Good luck!
