Dear Sunshine Supporters,
We hope that you enjoy receiving the Sunshine Reporter and seeing the smiling faces of the children whose dreams are
answered by the Sunshine Foundation. If not for the generosity of Sunshine’s donors there would be no monthly
newsletter, nor would there be a Sunshine Foundation to bring joy into the lives of the chronically ill, seriously ill,
physically challenged or abused children you see each month in our newsletters. Many of these precious children would
have no where else to turn, for Sunshine is the only wish granting organization that handles children diagnosed with
chronic illnesses as well as abused children and not just those with life threatening illnesses.
The troubled economic time times we face and recent global catastrophes have taken its toll on the number of donations
received by Sunshine. It is with this in mind that we reach out to you, our readers for help, please consider donating
whatever possible so that we may continue to answer the dreams of these deserving children for years to come.
Sincerely,
Kate Sample
President
Sunshine Foundation thanks Genuardi’s and the

Adopt A Dream!
Sunshine Foundation’s Dream Village received a landscaping makeover in
celebration of Earth Day thanks to Austin Outdoor. This day of service was
organized by Beau Wright and Paulo Paternes. Plants were donated by
Medallion Nursery and mulch provided by Bolling Forest Products. The
Dream Village lost many plants from its lush landscaping during the recent
winter freeze. Sunshine thanks everyone who was a part of this
special day!

We would like to remember Cobey Fisher this month on the anniversary of her birthday.
Cobey was a big fan of Irv Homer and after listening to Irv speak about Sunshine, Cobey
learned to love Sunshine Foundation as much as Irv. Unfortunately, Cobey passed away
but her very generous donation made it possible for Sunshine to build the Main House at
the Dream Village, which was named after her (Coburn Hall). Cobey will be in our hearts
forever and our warmest wishes go out to her mother Lillian at this special time.

the volunteers for all their time and support
they give to the Village throughout the year!
Thank you Shane Trace, General Manager, and everyone at Southern Dunes for helping
Sunshine honor our special volunteers!
Jacob recently visited the Orlando attractions and stayed at
the Dream Village. He is 9 years old and from New Windsor,
MD. Jacob’s mom shared this with Sunshine: “Spiritually
and mentally we were so happy and got to put everyday worries and headaches on the back burner. It was so wonderful
to have our biggest worry be which park to explore next! We
will cherish this dream and take our memories home with us
to enjoy for a long, long time.” Jacob’s dream was answered Jacob and his family arrive at
