CATHOLIC EAST ELEMENTARY TIDBITS
CATHOLIC EAST ELEMENTARY TIDBITS 1 We Pray, We Serve, We Learn ! M R . K RIENKE ’ S N EWS A PRIL 1, 2015 Dear Parents, “One of you will betray me…. The cock will not crow before you will deny me three times.” John 13: 21, 38 I hope you are having a Blessed Holy Week. As we approach Good Friday, we consider the relationship that each of the Disciples had with Jesus as he approached his crucifixion. Judas berated him, Peter denied him and John remained a true believer and loyal follower in Christ. As members of this Catholic community, we spend this week continuing to work in our classrooms, on our homework and on all of the demands that are very real for us in our lives. We also look forward with great anticipation towards Spring Break. Spring Break will be a time to refresh and recharge our batteries for the final stretch of the school year. However, let us remember as our Lenten journey comes to a close that Christ’s suffering and eventual death on the cross is because of our sinfulness. Let us reflect on the times we are Judas the betrayer and Peter, choosing not believe. It is John, who we strive to be every day in our lives. The true follower of Christ. Have a Blessed last few days of Lent and a joyous Easter as we celebrate the rising of our Savior. God bless, Mr. Krienke IMPORTANT REMINDERS!! With that in mind, we hope your family will join us at this year’s Wellness Walk and Potluck Lunch on Saturday, April 18 where we can all have fun being active with our school community. Registration begins at 10 am at the CEE Holy Rosary Campus and the walk kicks off at 10:30 am. The walk is about 2.5 miles long. We’ll begin at the HR Campus and follow the Oak Leaf Trail to the Urban Ecology Center, then head back to school for lunch. As part of the Fuel Up to Play 60 program, our gym teacher Ms. Green will offer each scholar who participates in the Wellness Walk a ticket for the end-of-year drawing for the autographed Green Bay Packer Eddie Lacey helmet. We are going to continue the fun after the walk with the Community Potluck Lunch in the Holy Rosary Church Hall. Here are the potluck assignments: If your child is in Grades K3, 1st, 3rd or 6th, please bring a main dish If your child is in Grades K4, 2nd, 4th or 7th please bring a side dish or salad If your child is in Grades K5, 5th or 8th, please bring a healthy dessert Please see the enclosed flyer for more details. Parents/Guardians will need to bring their scholars to St. Casimir Church for the 6:30 P.M. evening performance on May 11 th. Children will report to their teachers in church, who will have assigned seating and attendance will be taken. Children will need to be in the church at 6:15 P.M. Doors will not open until 6:00 P.M. You may drop off your child at the church entrance and then proceed to park your car after the drop off or you may park first and bring your child in with you. There will be teachers at the front door of the church making sure that children get into the church safely if you choose to drop off first and then park. Carpooling is encouraged as parking is always a challenge! Dress for the Concert: Since the theme is Vacation Bible School! We are asking that scholars wear dress up clothing. A huge shout out to some of our community sponsors this year: Lakefront Brewery, Pepsico, Champions Pub and Colectivo Coffee Roasters made generous donations to our Fish Fry this year! Please consider patronizing these places and products as a sign of our Thank You for their generosity. I'll be back after break with details on the funds raised through this fundraiser but always remember more than a fundraiser, the Catholic East Fish Fry is a fun-raiser and a community builder that we are very proud of. May you and your family enjoy a blessed Easter season! Sarah Parlier Fish Shack CEO CELEBRATING CATHOLIC EAST ELEMENTARY GALA The Celebrating Catholic East Gala on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.
