Select the desired transaction. 3 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training Qualifications Qualifications will display any activity that will maintain a pilot’s qualification for line flying and show the expiration date for that qualification. The most critical qualification, that which will expire first, will display at the top. Qualifications will maintain a scheduled expiration date of any training, landings, medical, passport, and visa. Airport and area qualifications are recorded and any restrictions will be listed. There is also a place to track integration training that has been completed. CCS retrieves all Qualifications data from the Pilot Records (PR) System. Step Action 1 Begin by navigating to CCS. 2 Hover the cursor over the Training Tab and select Qualifications. 3 The Qualifications screen displays. 4 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 4 Below is a detailed description of the Qualifications Screen. 1. Employee ID number 2. Employee Name 3. Base, Equipment, and Status 4. Expiration Date – the most critical expiration, the soonest date the pilot will become non-qualified. 5. Reason – The reason the pilot will become non-qualified on the expiration date. 5 Qualifications – Below is a list of all qualifications a Pilot must maintain to be considered eligible to fly. 5 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 6. ASR Expiration – Annual Systems Review – If the pilot does not complete ASR by this date, he will not be eligible to fly. 7. Global Contrails Expiration – If the pilot does not complete Global Contrails by this date, he will not be eligible to fly. 8. GSR Expiration – General Subjects Review – If the pilot does not complete GSR by this date, he will not be eligible to fly. 9. Landing Currency – This date is 90 days from the 1st of the last 3 landings. Every time a landing is logged through ACARS to PR (Pilot Records) this date will update. 10. Line Check Expiration – If the pilot does not complete a line check by this date, he will not be eligible to fly. 11. Sim Check Expiration – If the pilot does not complete a sim check (CQLOE) by this date, he will not be eligible to fly. 12. Medical Expiration – If the pilot does not complete a medical by this date, he will not be eligible to fly. 13. Passport Expiration – If the pilot does renew his passport by this date, he will not be eligible to fly. 6 Qualifications – Below is a list of all qualifications a Pilot must maintain to be considered eligible to fly (con’t). 6 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 14. Visa Expiration – If the pilot does renew his Visa (if required) by this date, he will not be eligible to fly. A blank area signifies no Visa required. 15. Airport Qualification – List of Airport Qualifications. See FOM for airports which required qualification for Entry or Exit. A blank area signifies no Airport Qualifications. 16. Area Qualification – List of Area Qualifications. See FOM for area qualifications. A blank area signifies no Area Qualifications. 17. Check Airman – this will state if a pilot is qualified as a check airman. 18. Restrictions – this will show any restrictions that apply. Integration Training – this area shows all integration training that is complete, and the date which it was completed. 8 To print this screen for your records, right click on the screen and select Print, or select CTRL + P. Follow the prompts on the screen to print. 9 You have successfully reviewed the Qualifications Screen. CBT Select CBT to open a new web browser window with a shortcut to the L-CAL Learning Management System. 9 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training Recurrent Training Bid Pilots will receive their recurrent training notifications via CCS at the time of the bid window opening. Please note that pilots in their lapsed month will be assigned a unit per 9-B-3-a-(3) and do not need to bid and the bid window will not diplay. Pilots in their early, base or qrace month will bid for recurrent training events based on the dates/times of units/events. Step Action 1 Log into CCS 2 Select Recurrent Bid from the Training drop-down menu. 3 The Recurrent Training bidding screen displays. 4 When recurrent training bidding is available for a pilot, the following 10 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training information will display: Employee information, Recurrent Training Type, Due Month, Bidding Open, Bidding Close, and Bid Period. The Bidding Open date/time indicates when pilots are able to begin bidding for training. Similarly, the Bidding Close date/time indicates when bidding will close. The Bid Period indicates the current bid period for which training assignments are being preferenced. 11 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 5 This area is where the pilot can add, remove, and prioritize their training unit choices. The unit is the actual recurrent training class. The Event is the unit plus travel. Travel is based on where you are based, not where you live. Legalities and PBS will be based on the event dates/times. 12 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 6 When a pilot is in their early month, the box “Desire Training in Early Month” will be visible. It will not appear for pilots in their base, grace month. Check this box if you want to be awarded a CQ event in your early month. Even if this box is not checked, pilots may still be assigned in reverse seniority order if empty slots need to be filled. If you change the month displayed you may need to recheck this box. 13 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 7 The Calendar displays units available, training choices, carry in trips and pre-assignments such as vacation. The system will allow bids over absence dates but will not award a unit that conflicts with an absence. Use the arrows to display desired month Note: A “unit” is the actual training at the training center. The “unit start” is the beginning of the training on the first day (e.g., start of door training, start of briefing, etc.) and the “unit end” is the end of the final training on the last day (e.g., end of debrief). An “event” includes the unit plus the DH flights. The “event start” is the scheduled departure time of the flight from the pilot’s base and the “event end” is the scheduled arrival time of the return DH flight to the pilot’s base. 14 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 8 To add bid choices, click on the desired date. All available units for that date will appear in the adjacent window. Click on the box next to the unit(s) desired or the box under the add button to select all units. Click on the add button to add to your bid choices. Bids must be “Saved” to finalize the bidding process. Once the add button is clicked, the bid is now added to the “choices” section. In this section, the unit start/end date/time is displayed as well as the event start/end date/time based on where the pilot is based. Event start/end dates may be different than the unit start/end dates if you are required to have additional travel days. If no travel is needed, times will be the same 15 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 9 Additional information is displayed: 1) Travel Day In and Travel Day Out will display a “1” if travel day is required and a “0” if no travel day is required. 2) The number of units available with the same start and end times will be displayed under “Units”. A “Unit” is the actual training at the training center. The “unit start” is the beginning of the training on the first day (e.g., start of door training, start of briefing, etc.) and the “unit end” is the end of the final training on the last day (e.g., end of debrief). 3) Clicking on the “Flight” icon will display flight information to/from your base. Legalities and PBS will be based on this information 16 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 10 To insert a bid choice above another, select the choice in the Slots window, then click on a bid “class name” which you wish to insert above and lastly click on the “Insert Above” button. Note: Use green arrows to move bids up or down 17 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 11 2) Click to remove selected bids To remove a bid choice select the bid “Class Name” and then select “Remove”. Selecting “Remove All” will remove all bids even if only one or none are selected. Click to remove ALL bids 1) Only one bid can be selected at a time to delete 12 After bid choices have been selected and placed in the desired order, the bid must be saved by clicking on the “Save” button. If additional bids are entered after doing so, a red asterisk “*” will appear next to unsaved bids. You must save again to retain new bids or remove deleted bids. Print and save this page for your records. 14 Recurrent training will be awarded in seniority order based on the priority order of the individual pilot’s bid choices, with choice number 1 being the most important and the last choice being the least important. 19 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training Hotel Reservations Hotel Reservations will display any hotel reservation made by Training Scheduling for Initial, Recurrent, Upgrade, or Transition Training. Step Action 1 Begin by navigating to CCS. 2 Hover your cursor over the Training tab and select Hotel Reservations. 3 The Hotel Reservations screen displays. Your Employee number will automatically populate. 4 Enter the date range you would like to check for reservations. To enter the start date and end date in the format shown – MM/DD/YYYY. 20 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 5 Click the Submit button. 6 Hotel Reservations display. Hotel Reservation information includes date of arrival, date of departure, total number of nights, hotel name, hotel phone number, status – pending or reserved, and confirmation number. 7 To print this screen for your records, right click on the screen and select Print, or select CTRL + P. Follow the prompts on the screen to print. 8 You have successfully reviewed Hotel Reservations. End of procedure. 21 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training My Training Schedule My Training Schedule will display any Initial, Transition, Upgrade, Requalification, or Continuing Qualification Training. To view the schedule of classroom and simulator training complete the process below. Step Action 1 Begin by navigating to CCS. 2 Hover your cursor over the Training tab and select My Training Schedule. 3 The Student Schedule selection screen displays. Your employee number will automatically populate. 4 Select the class schedule to display from the drop-down list. Classes are ordered by date, the most recent on top. The classes are coded for training scheduling purposes in the following manner. 756CU02112009 756 - The first 3 numbers are the equipment. CU - The next letters are the course code – CU stands for Captain Upgrade. 02112009 - The remaining numbers are the date the course began, Feb 11, 2009. 22 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 5 After the course is selected, click the Submit button. 6 The selected Student Schedule will display. Student Schedule information includes the date of training, location, time of event, instructor name, event, and partner name if applicable. 23 Crew Communication System Pilot’s User Guide: Training 7 To print this screen for your records, right click on the screen and select Print, or select CTRL + P.
