Empower your child with
Play it Safe
Thursday, March 12, 2015
12:30-2:40 Cost: $25.00 in the Activity Center
Play It Safe for children is a fun, interactive, age-appropriate method that teaches students to respond appropriately to unique challenges they must face
such as dealing with bullies, “mean” kids, stranger awareness and abduction defense. Play It Safe is based on a simple but effective step-by-step
approach where students practice their techniques against trained instructors in age-appropriate scenarios. This empowering class teaches children to
be aware of their surroundings, project confidence, trust their intuition and set boundaries. This can only come from hands-on repetitive training.
Students will role-play with a mock “would be abductor” and a mock “bully,” while being coached by an instructor. This class has been taught to
thousands of children. Each child will receive an “Awareness” certificate and scouts will earn their “Awareness” patch. Parents will be given an
informational supplement of safety material.

“Go Chihuahua Crazy!” with Play It Safe Defense
This FUN, highly entertaining & empowering self-defense class is
designed to teach children through role-play and repetitive hands-on

boundaries, trust their instincts and use their voice when someone or
something doesn’t feel right. Students will also receive valuable
reference materials to take home and a Certificate of “Awareness.”
Scouts and Y-Guides earn a patch. Taught to over 60,000 children.

March 13 (Fri) 10:00 am Join the Solana Beach PTA Today!
The Solana Beach Parent Teacher Association (“PTA”) is a parent-run
volunteer organization that covers both Skyline and Solana Vista Elementary
Schools. The PTA provides enrichment programs each year that the School,
State or Government does not. Each year we run a Membership drive and
ask that all parents ‘join’ the PTA so we can offer these fun and educational
programs for you and your children.
What does it mean to join the PTA?
Short answer: it means you make a tax deductible donation. You are not
being asked to attend our monthly PTA meetings, or take ownership of any
PTA role, although we invite you to do that as well!
Long answer: It means you are becoming a member of an approximately 5
million person nation-wide organization that supports healthy living and
academic excellence for your child at their public school(s). The PTA not only
funds programs your children find really ‘fun’, like 6th grade camp scholarships,
the garden, Red Ribbon Week, and assemblies, but the PTA also helps
communication and information flow to parents, and in general tries to broaden
and deepen the quality of public school instruction.
How do I join?
Join online, using your credit card, at our secure site:
http://www.solanabeachpta.org/
Or
Fill out the back of this form and pay with check or cash. Turn the form in to
your child’s teacher, or to the PTA box at the front office.
Checks can be made to: Solana Beach PTA;. tax id # 95-6207429
When should I join?
We put your funds to use right away; so please consider joining now. The
more you donate now, the less pressure we will have to put on the Dance-AThon, Walk-A-Thon or other volunteer-intensive fundraising measures to raise
money.
Questions? Your PTA Presidents are here!

possible!!

your student’s sponsorship sheet with the required information.
