Special Notice
EXHIBITING OR HANDLING AT THE NATIONAL SPECIALTY: The National Show Coordinator and
the National Show Chairperson shall not exhibit or handle dogs at any DPCA National Specialty
Show. However, family members will be allowed to professionally handle dogs not owned or coowned by a family member. Also, family members may handle dogs owned or co-owned by a
family member in competitive Obedience & Rally Trials conducted in conjunction with the National Specialty Show. Members of the immediate family are husband, wife, father, mother, son,
daughter, brother or sister.
PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOTAPING: “Commercial and independent still photography and videotaping or filming shall be conducted at the DPCA National Specialty Show and Convention. Your entry
in or attendance at the DPCA National Specialty Show and Convention constitutes your permission and consent to DPCA, its assignees and licensees, and all other persons photographing,
videotaping or filming to use the resulting photographic pictures, videotapes or films of yourself,
your agents/or your dogs for any purpose whatsoever and without payment or further release.”
Attention Exhibitors
The Event Site will be available to exhibitors beginning on Friday, September 25, 2015. Anyone
arriving prior to that date will be asked to move, if necessary. Dogs may remain at the event
site until Sunday, October 04, 2015.
Because of the carelessness of some exhibitors, show sites all over the United States are becoming more difficult to obtain as time goes on. The Doberman Pinscher Club of America is very
appreciative of having the facilities of the Lancaster Host Resort & Convention Center for its
Specialty Events. We ask your cooperation in cleaning up after yourselves and your dogs. Exhibitors will be responsible for policing their own rooms, grooming area, and parking area.

The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that
are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the
requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing
of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the
show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner’s records.
If, at the end of the 90 day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by AKC, no
further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has
been confirmed by AKC.
GRAND CHAMPION SELECT
When quality warrants, after Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex are awarded, a Select Dog (SD)
and Select Bitch (SB) may be chosen from the remaining Champions (Non Regular Class winners that
are Champions and Qualify for BOB are eligible) - (WD or WB are not eligible) (AKC Dog Show Rules,
Chapter 3, Section 14, Effective 5-12-10)
SUPERIOR QUALITY SPECIMEN
All Champions of Record competing in Best of Breed are eligible for Superior Quality Specimen
Rosettes with the exception of the Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog
& Select Bitch. The judge may select up to TEN individual specimens from the Intersex Competition
of superior quality.
AMATEUR OWNER HANDLER CLASS ELIGIBILITY

Additionally, members of the immediate family or household of a current professional handler are ineligible for this class (as
defined in Chapter 11, Section 13 of the AKC Dog Show Rules). Professional handlers are defined as any
person who belongs to a professional handlers’ organization, distributes rate cards, or otherwise advertise
or represent themselves as handling dogs for pay.

the Stud Dog Class & must be shown in the ring with their Get. Owner of Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of Get. Get only to be judged, based on the merits of the Get. While the merits

Doberman Pinscher Club of America
Free DNA Collection Clinic (CHIC Clinic) - Tues, Sept 29 & Wed, Sept 30
All DPCA Members and Friends are invited to participate.
The CHIC DNA Repository, co-sponsored by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and the
AKC Canine Health Foundation (AKCCHF), collects and stores DNA samples along with corresponding
genealogic and phenotypic information to facilitate future research and testing aimed at reducing
the incidence of inherited disease in dogs.
Please come and help support Doberman Pinscher Health Research by participating in the FREE DNA
Collection Clinic at this year’s National generously funded by the DPCA. This blood will be placed in a
DNA bank for Doberman research, available to all researchers and stored at the University of Missouri.
Participating Doberman owners will be required to fill out an “Application for DNA Repository” (DPCA DNA Collection Clinic) as well as a “CHIC DNA Repository Health Survey”. Please
download and bring the completed forms with you to expedite the process. We must have the dog’s
AKC registered name and number as well as call name.
We welcome all, however, if you have placed a DNA sample in the bank in the past we do not need
the same dog again. Please bring another one.
We are looking for volunteers to help hold dogs and draw the blood. Please let me know if you can
help as we NEED volunteers. We would like to write a schedule, so please let me know what time
and how long you can help. Please help by donating some time and by bringing dogs to be collected.
Everyone who brings a dog for collection will be entered in the “Basket of Goodies” draw. Please
donate items for the baskets. We will be set up ringside. All donations are welcome.
Let’s all participate to reach our goal of 200 samples.
Thank you all
