“We are proud to offer all pubic entities a cost effective and valuable fund. Our goal remains to save our members more valuable dollars every year.” — Timothy K. McGuire Executive Director, Michigan Association Of Counties MICHIGAN COUNTIES WORKERS’ COMPENSATION FUND ABOUT MCWCF The Michigan Counties Workers’ Compensation Fund was established in 1979 and has grown into one of the most successful workers’ compensation fund programs in the State of Michigan. With participation from over 70 public entities in Michigan, our fund enables participants to receive on average 35% of their annual premium back in the form of dividends. We are committed to loss control, claims reduction and member service. Our goal is to keep your workplace safe while saving you money. We encourage you to contact us and find out how we can help you today! Our Story Over thirty years ago, ten counties in Michigan joined together and formed the Michigan Counties Workers’ Compensation Fund, a self-insured program for public entities throughout our great state. Since then the fund has grown considerably. Unlike many self-insured programs, the MCWCF’s longevity provides its members with security. Our participants experience reduction in claims and strong dividend returns. The ongoing commitment of the MCWCF Board of Trustees to long-term financial principles has allowed the fund to maintain a dividend program that is unmatched in the industry. Along with this strong dividend program, many of our participants have experienced a significant reduction in annual claims reported by utilizing the fund’s value added loss control services. All of this results in quantifiable financial savings. We’ll assist you with a safer workplace and as a result provide you with greater financial security. We look forward to working with your organization. An endorsed agent of MCWCF PROGRAM BENEFITS n n n n n n MCWCF is non-profit and is owned by its members. The assets of our self-insured pool belong to our participants. This means that all surplus monies and investment income are used to reduce premiums and are returned to our members in the form of dividend checks. Stable and predicible. Self-insured pools, like the MCWCF, generally use stricter underwriting guidelines. Members of the MCWCF are provided with ninety-six (96) days of loss control services every calendar year. There is no charge to our members for utilizing this additional benefit. The MCWCF is a homogeneous self-insured pool. Participation is limited solely to public entities located in the State of Michigan. The MCWCF is managed by an 11-member board of commissioners whose counties participate in the Fund.
