OFFICE MEMORANDUM
ln supersession of earlier orders issued by this Department in respect of appointment of
CPIOs and 1't Appellate Authority in the Department of Economic Affairs and in exercise of
power conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 5 and Sub-section('1) of Section 19 of the Right to
lnformation Act, 2005, following officers of Department of Economic Affairs are designated as
CPIOs and First Appellate Authorities for the purpose of the Right to lnformation Act, 2005 with
approval of the competent Authority.
"ln case of absence of designated Officer(s) due to his/her proceeding on leave, tours or any
other reason, the concerned link officer of the designated CPIO or 1't Appettate Authorities wilt
perform the duties of concerned designation Officer(s) as CP\O or 1't Appetlate Authority, as the
case may be, in accordance with provisions of RTI Act. lt may also be noted that in the event of
re-allocation of work among officers of Department from time to time, CPIOs and First Appellate
Authorities and linked officers shall automatically acf as CPIOs and FAAs in respect of the their
work."

Cheque/lndian Postal Order in favour of Pay & Accounts Officer, Department of Economic
Affairs, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi. Payment of fee in cash is also accepted by Section
Officer (RTl Cell), Department of Economic Affairs, Room No. 251-D, North Block, New Delhi, in
case the applicant submits RTI application by hand and receipt of the payment is issued by
Section Officer (RTl Cell).
