INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES BOYS’ TORAH LEARN I NG LEARN I NG PROGRAMS Eitz Chaim’s Torah studies program prepares SHAKLA V’TARYA boys for a vibrant life of Jewish learning and Outside of the base curriculum, students from Grades 5 practice. Each Rabbi is a master educator and through 8 memorize chapters of the Mishnah as well as the logical, give and take discussions of the Talmud role model who guides students through the they are learning in class. Thousands of pages of classic texts of our people including Chumash, Mishna and Talmud have been mastered by Eitz Chaim Talmud, Jewish law and ethics. Torah learning demands. With this foundation, they are well equipped to embark on a life of spiritual, personal and professional achievement. On a typical Saturday night the fathers and sons fill the spacious Eitz Chaim Beis Medrash to capacity for a 40 minute learning session followed by a riveting story, raffle and nosh. MASMIDIM This program encourages students to learn Torah during school breaks. Students log their vacation learning time and earn prizes. To date, almost 1.5 million minutes of vacation time Torah learning have been logged. MUSSAR SHMOOZE Every Friday, Grade 8 students hear an inspirational talk by a guest Rabbi or teacher imparting life lessons from the weekly Torah portion, thereby reinforcing proper ethical behaviour. INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES GI RLS’ TORAH LEARN I NG Eitz Chaim provides girls with an excellent foundation of skills in the classic texts of Chumash, Navi, and Jewish Law and in Hebrew language. Just as important, each teacher role models the joy of living a rich Jewish life. High school principals describe our graduates as bright young women who are keen to learn and well prepared for high school. They exhibit excellent character traits, a strong sense of community and leadership skills. LEARN I NG PROGRAMS GRADE 6 BAS MITZVAH PROGRAM In this program, girls learn a different mitzvah, character trait or core Jewish concept each month with guest speakers, crafts, discussions, debates, songs, and drama. Students also learn about great women role models from the Tanach and Jewish History. PIRKEI AVOS Girls in grades 3-8 recite and memorize chapters from Pirkei Avos - Ethics of Our Fathers. This essential text provides deep and inspiring life lessons. SH Th ex th sp “S pr to R Th ho MOTHER AND DAUGHTER YOM IYUN Si A DAY OF LEARNING in This event takes place between Rosh Hashanah and Yom go Kippur bringing mothers and daughters together to prepare spiritually for a meaningful high holiday experience. SHABBOS EITZ CHAIM This is an annual event for all grade 7 and 8 girls to experience an inspiring and fun-filled Shabbos with their friends, teachers and principals. It features guest speakers, panel discussions, debates, and events like “Stump the Rabbi”. The girls enthusiastically plan and prepare the Shabbos, giving them a special opportunity to express their creativity. ROSH CHODESH AND HOLIDAY ASSEMBLIES These events, celebrating the new month and the holidays, include songs, skits, speakers, Big Sister/ Little Sister activities, and arts and crafts projects.
