This June, GLAR is joining RealtorsÒ across the nation in a celebration of National
Homeownership Month, as declared by President Bush. Realtors® support the Americ a n d r e a m o f h o m e o w n e r s h i p b y w o r k i n g t i r e l e s s l y t o c r e a t e s t r o n g e r, m o r e v i b r a n t
communities in which to live and work. As Realtors®, you make our hometown a
better place to live.
GLAR has been celebrating homeownership opportunities for years. In conjunction
with The Home Builders Association of Louisville and other organizations we have
built 8 out of 200 Habitat for Humanity
H o m e s i n o u r c o m m u n i t y. I n a d d i t i o n t o
this, our Advertising and Community
R e l a t i o n s Ta s k F o r c e h a s d e l e g a t e d t i m e
and money to support community organiz a t i o n s a n d p r o j e c t s . We a l s o n e e d t o
r e c o g n i z e t h e m a n y o ff i c e s a n d R e a l t o r s ®
that have worked toward these causes.
Recently GLAR has become one of the
main supporters of Dreams With Wings, a non-profit organization that provides housing for adults with mental disabilities. Last year we participated in their annual
f u n d r a i s e r, t h e J a c k - O - L a n t e r n S t r o l l , i n c l u d i n g t h e d e s i g n a n d c o o r d i n a t i o n o f
L o u i s v i l l e ’s L a r g e s t P u m p k i n P i e f o r t h e e v e n t . We h o p e t o b e c o m e e v e n m o r e i n volved this year by raising addition funds, carving more pumpkins, and again building
L o u i s v i l l e ’s L a r g e s t P u m p k i n P i e .
