SKB PROVIDES ANOTHER
INDUSTRY STANDARD . . .
ROTATIONALLY MOLDED
DRUM PROTECTION.
A remarkable manufacturing process has provided the design team
at SKB with a powerful new creative resource. The ability to create
oversized one-piece polyethylene shapes with carefully engineered
dynamic curves and angles results in the most impact-resistent,
durable and stylish transit cases ever imagined. Amazingly, building
these 'tough as nails' products begins with a fine powder - that's the
big roto-molding advantage. The powder is introduced into the
massive closed molds in carefully measured amounts, determining
the final uniform wall thickness. Any molding process that begins
with a sheet of plastic is restricted by the inherent thickness of the
sheet. Not so with roto-molding. The mold then enters an oven
chamber, ranging in temperature from 500° to 650°ƒ and rotates on a
huge armature. The molecular structure of the powder is changing
dramatically as it melts and
coats the inside of the mold.

manufactured at SKB is a
result of the rotational
molding process.
After the hard shell is removed from the mold, the
process is completed adding heavy-duty hardware,
straps and our new drum line features thick wallto-wall padding and smooth tricot liner to protect
every inch of the drum's surface and virtually
eliminate internal movement of the instrument. The
new family of trap and accessory transport systems on the
next two pages are also roto products.

1SKB-TPX1 - Large Trap Case with Wheels
To enhance the new Roto-X drum case line SKB premiers
the most unique trap case in years. The Trap-X is a top
loaded case with a removable tray for pedal storage,
sticks and hardware. The lid provides plenty of room
to store a drum throne which secures with a handy
supplied bungee. Built-in 4” industrial wheels, rear glides
for protection on stairs and tailgates and interior straps for
securing gear are all standard on the Trap-X.

The new small trap and accessory roller is
Roto molded with SKB's patented 'X pattern'
for strength and durability. Linear Low
Polyethylene creates an incredibly strong
shell. The convenience of a top-loader with
removable lid and lift out hardware tray. An
amazing use of space actually integrates a
cymbal vault with pads (4) that will hold up to
6 cymbals and carpeted snare drum stowage
(1). Comes with 4 braking casters and 'Sure
Grip' handles with a 90 degree stop designed for easy lifting and transport. Sturdy,
high-tension slide release buckle and heavyduty web straps secure the closure externally.
STAND & RAIL-PACK UTILITY CASES
These cases feature built-in wheels. The interiors of the
4812 and 4816 are fitted with four polypropylene straps
with spring loaded reverse-cinch buckles for holding
drum stands and hardware securely in place.

The popular SKB Cymbal Vault holds up to 8 cymbals with
layers of protective padding inside and a computer designed
internal structure offering maximum support to each cymbal.
The patented SKB X- pattern is molded into both the Cymbal
Vault and the Trap-X cases for secure interlocking stackability
with any of the Roto-X drum cases.
