incorporated “Prabhu Padhramni Satsang” in their centers to take alaukik laabh of Shri Thakorji’s Padhramni
at Vaishnav’s home during satsang. With Thakorjis’s Krupa VYO USA’s Havelis, VYO E programs and other

the country to bring much needed awareness of care and protection of Cows. Our ladila Pujya Jeje Shri’s
Spiritual tour of USA will commence on July 13 for 2 months to soak all Vaishnavs with divine alaukik aanand.
VYO USA can’t wait to welcome Jeje Shri in our homes and in our hearts!

VYO Freehold completed 2 successful years of Spiritual meet
and VYOE for kids. Our first Prabhu Padhramni took place in the
month of June 2016 which was also the end of VYOE year. The
centre completed bridge level course. Kids took great effort in
writing an essay on VYO and their learning in
the past year. Both VYOE and dedicated
Vaishnavs of Freehold are spreading Pujya Jeje
Shri’s message of "Serving Happiness through
Spirituality" and also looking forward to Pujya
Jeje Shri's visit this summer. VYO New York continues their monthly satsang to spread happiness and spirituality amongst the Vaishnavs.
We celebrated various utsavs during our satsang and learned about their importance. The centre’s Vaishnavs
are very enthusiastic about the Prabhu Padhramni concept
and eager to incorporate in their monthly spiritual meet.
With
Thakorji’s prerna and
Jeje Shri’s
blessing,
the
committee members of VYO New York thought of an outdoor
satsang to adorn Shri Prabhu Padhramni swaroop, and to
experience the vachnamrut and satsang performed by our
Gurus in the olden ages. The team worked with great synergy
to create this divine experience, and suffice it to say, it was
truly blissful! Starting from the location, to the weather, to all
the support from fellow Vaishnavs of all ages and manorathis,
everything turned out perfect with the grace of god. We had the opportunity to welcome Shri Thakorji’s
swaroop along with Shri Mahaprabhuji’s Bethakji with a ShobhaYatra where the Vaishnavs and the passerbys
were mesmerized with kirtans and dhod
pads! After the Shobha Yatra and nitya paath,
we experienced our Jeje Shri’s vachnamrut by
playing it on a computer with a loud speaker
so all Vaishnavs could hear him. The satsang
gave us a divine feeling as if we were listening
to a live vachnamrut, much like when Shri
Mahaprabhuji carried out satsangs under a
tree. The manorathi had arranged delightful
prasadi for all. We all departed feeling joy
full and experiencing paramanand. Volume 3. Issue 4. Summer 2016

Rath Yatra in Pushtimarg
Rath Yatra celebration in Pushtimarg was
initiated by Shri Gusainji. Once, Shri Gusainji
went to a Rath Yatra celebration of Shri
Jagannathji. On this day, Prabhu told Shri
Gusainji to perform the same manorath in
Pushtimarg.
Rath Yatra is celebrated on the auspicious day of
Ashad Sud beej (2) in Pushya nakshatra. On this
day, Thakorji is seated in a Rath (chariot) by
Shri Yashodaji and the Rath is taken to every
Vrajvasi’s residence to fullfill their manoraths.
Rath Yatra is a Parvanik Utsav. It means this
utsav is based on Vedic festivals on Nakshatras –
Parva.
Balbhav Lilla vs Kishore Lilla
In Pushtimarg, we assume the bhava of Shri
Yasodaji, who made bal Shri Krishna sit in a
Rath for the first time. As Shri Krishna is a balak,
Yasodaji did not strap the horses to the Rath
because she thought that Balak Krishna would
get frighten with the horses. Instead, all vraj
bhakts took turns to pull the Rath. In front of the
Rath, the bal vraj bhakts holds flags, banners,
umbrellas. This is called Balbhav Lilla.
When the horses are connected to Rath it is
known as Kishore Lilla. In this bhav, Shri
Thakorji sits with Swaminiji in the Rath which is
surrounded by sakhi gopis.
The Rath Yatra utsav is not celebrated in
Nathadwara, Shri Nathji. It is believed that this
utsava is “chal” (active and flowing) bhava and
Shri Nathji is “sthir” (still) bhava. So Shri
Gusainji decided not to celebrate the Rath Yatra
in Shri Nathji. Also, on this day, Shri
Mahaprabhuji did “Aasurvyamohleela”, means
aapshri left the material body. So keeping this in
mind, Thakorji wears white vastra (clothes) on
this day and in the evening the umbrella
(kharsal) is removed from the Rath.
Volume 3. Issue 4. Summer 2016
Chariot (Rath)
It is believed that
when Nandbaba
made the first
chariot for Lalan,
he insisted that the
chariot should be
of light material
since it was being
pulled by Krishna’s
sakhas. The design
of the chariot was
made just like the one of Shri Jagannathji. The
chariot was of four wheels (since the Rath was
light) compared to Shri Jagannathji Rath which
has sixteen wheels. Shri Baldevji’s Rath has
tweleve wheels and Shri Subhadraji’s Rath has
eight wheels.
Bhav Bhavna:
This utsav is celebrated with great enthusiasm.
The divine bhav behind this celebration is the
one of ‘Vrajpati’. Meaning, Shri Thakorji visits
personally each and every Vrajbhaktas to fulfill
their manorathas. Vrajbhaktas are broadly
categorized in four groups:
1. Satvik
2. Rajasik
3. Tamasik
4. Nirguna
Considering the bhav of these four groups, four
bhogs are offered to Shri Thakorji:
1. First Darshan: Shri Thakorji starts visit from
Nandalaya
2. Second Darshan: Shri Thakorji halts at the
places of Vrajanganas
3. Third Darshan: Shri Thakorji meets Shri
Vrusbhan nandini at Barsana
4. Fourth Darshan: Shri Thakorji visits
Nikunjas and returns back to Nandalaya. Comments/Qs: vallabhyouthusa@gmail.com

Siri Mahaprabhuji: Swaroop Darshan
Pragatya (Emergence): In Telangana state (currently Andhra Pradesh) of South India, on the banks of holy
river Krishna near Vyom Stambh mountain in a village Kankarwaad, lived Shri Yagyanarayan Bhatt. He was a
learned Brahmin and resident of Kankarwaad, who performed Somyagnas as part of his ancestral ritual. Once,
towards the end (samaapti) of one such Yagna, the Lord appeared and granted a boon, “Upon completion of
100 SomYagnas by your descendants, I shall incarnate in your line of heritage”. Having said thus, the Lord
disappeared.
Shri Yagyanarayan Bhatt performed 32 SomYagnas; Shri Gangadhar Bhatt (son of Shri Yagyanarayan)
performed 28; Shri Ganpati Bhatt (son of Shri Gangadhar) performed 30; Shri Vallabh Bhatt (son of Shri
Ganpati) performed 5 and Shri Laxman Bhatt (son of Shri Vallabh) performed 5, thereby completing 100
SomYagnas.
On the auspicious day of VS 1535, Chaitra Sud 11, Shrimad Vallabhacharyaji – Shri Mahaprabhuji appeared in
the center of a circle of fire in Champaranya as “Vaishvaanar”.
Swaroop: “Vastutahh Krushna Aeva” meaning Shri MahaPrabhuji is Sanyogatmak and Rasatmak Divine
Swaroop of Sakshaat Purna Purushottam Shri Krishna and Shri Swaminiji.
Four Questions: Once while Aapshri was attending a religious forum in Jagannathpuri conducted by the
then King, four questions were debated by highly learned Brahmins.
1. Premier (main) Scripture?
2. Premier (main) God?
3. Premier (main) Mantra?
4. Premier (main) role or duty of Life?
Not being able to reach an acceptable answer even after a prolonged debate, Aapshri’s suggestion that Bhagwan
Jagdish be asked to intervene and answer above questions was accepted by all in unison. A blank paper and
pen were offered to Bhagwan Jagdish behind closed doors of the temple. Upon opening the doors, the following
Shlok was found inscribed on the piece of paper:
“EKAM SHASTRAM DEVKI-PUTRA-GIT-MEKO DEVO DEVKI-PUTRA EVA |
MANTRO-PYEKAM TASYA NAAMAANI YAANI KARMAA-PYEKAM TASYA DEVASYA SEVA ||”
Meaning: Shrimad Bhagvad Gita sung by Shri Krishna, son of Devki is Premier Scripture; Shri Krishna,
Himself is Premier God; Ashtakshar MahaMantra is Premier Mantra and Shri Krishna’s Seva (service) is
Premier Duty of soul in human life.
Aapshri is the founder of Pushtimarg – Path of Divine Grace, establishing the philosophy of
“SHUDDHADVAITA” (pure non-dualism) in light of Brahmasutra, Shrimad Bhagvat, Vedas and Bhagvad Gita.

passed away, the swaroop was returned to Shri
Mahaprabhuji who entrusted Him to Shri
Raghunathji.
The leela form of Shri Gokulchandramaji is the dance

Shri Harirayji further states that both Shri Krishna’s
seva and darshan should be conducted with full
bhava.
In Pushtimarg, Shri Krishna’s forms, leelas and divine
moods are of utmost importance and Vaishnavs
should contemplate on these when performing seva,
receiving darshan or participating in satsang, as it
binds the bhaktas to Shri Thakorji and instills Bhav,
Bhakti and Prem in the heart.

Significance of Ekadashi
Yogini Ekadashi: This Ekadashi helps one to leave the materialistic life and become spiritual. Fasting
on this Ekadashi helps in overcoming the remorse caused by sins committed and aids in achieving
Gowlok Dham (moksha). There is an ancient tale of a gardener name Hemamali who was cursed to
suffer with leprosy. He overcame this curse by observing vrat on this Ekadashi. According to Lord
Krishna, the fast done on this day is equal to feeding 88000 Brahmins. Devshayani Ekadashi: It is believed that on this day, Lord Vishnu goes into a deep sleep for the next
four months (chaturmas), and so it is called Dev Shayani (going to sleep) Ekadashi. This day also mark
the beginning of the monsoon (rainy) season. According to legends, there was a noble king named
Mandata who ruled a highly prosperous kingdom. He was very truthful and engaged in numerous
auspicious deeds. Nonetheless, his kingdom did not receive any rain for three years. To find a solution,
he goes to Sage Angira, who advised him to observe the Ekadashi vrat. The king followed his advice and
his kingdom received rain and became prosperous once again. Kaamika Ekadashi: According to Hindu beliefs, a devotee observing a vrat on this Ekadashi is
blessed more than a person performing ritual baths in holy rivers. Also it is believed that this devotee is
blessed more than a person who has visited all the holy places. This Ekadashi vrat is considered very
significant and auspicious for performing good deeds and seeking blessings of the Lord. Putradaa-Pavitra Ekadashi (Birth of Pushtimarg): This Ekadashi is very important as it marks
the establishment of Pushtimarg. Shri Mahaprabhuji’s pragatya in this world was to search and unite
Daivi jeevs with the Lord. One day Shri Mahaprabhuji was very worried about how to fulfill his duty.
Lord Krishna appeared before him as Shri Gokulchandramaji and offered Shri Mahaprabhuji
Brahmasambandh mantra to unify the Pushti souls with himself. This incidence took place at Govind
Ghat in Gokul at midnight of Shravan Sud 11 in Samvat 1549. Prostrating before the Lord, Shri
Mahaprabhuji adorned him with Pavitra made from cotton and mishri bhog. Hence this Ekadashi is
also called Pavitra Ekadashi. Ajaa Ekadashi: This Ekadashi is also called Aanand (joy) Ekadashi. It is believed that on this day Lord
gave moksha to Ajamil. He was a demon and had committed sins all of his life. He had a son named
Narayana. Just before his death, he called his son by his name – Narayana. Since this is a Lord’s name,

Shriji gave him moksha. This shows that our Lord is very forgiving and one should surrender everything
to him. In Hinduism, there is a tale about King Harishchandra. He was known for his truthfulness and honesty.
One day, he lost everything including his family but he never lied. While leaving in Kashi, he met a great
sage who advised him to do vrat on this Ekadashi. The king followed his advice and he got everything
back. This is why this Ekadashi is also called Aanand Ekadashi. One should always speak truth and
devote the life to the God.
Daan – Pari Vartini Ekadashi: On this day, Shri Thakorji took goras (yogurt, milk, etc.) from Gopis
to prevent them from selling in Mathura where Raja Kans used to live. This leela of taking goras was
done at Daan Ghati. By giving goras to Shri Thakorji, gopis surrendered everything they have to
Thakorji. Daan Leela starts from Bhadarva Sud 11 to Bhadarva Vad 30. Here, milk is Swaminiji swaroop
and yogurt is Shri Chandravaliji swaroop. During these days, yogurt is offered to Shri Thakorji. Another significance of this day is that Gurudev accepts Daan in hands, as we generally keep Daan at
the feet. Here, the bhaav is that by offering Daan to guru, it is given to Shri Mahaprabhuji thus to Shri
Thakorji.
This Ekadashi is also called Pari Vartini Ekadashi. It is said that on this day, Kans asked Akrurji to go to
Gokul and bring Shri Krishna and Balaram. When he left Mathura, he was proud about his knowledge.
As soon as, he reached Gokul, he saw Shri Thakorji’s charans in the sand and that created bhakti bhav
in him and he started rolling into the sand. This is the reason it is also called Pari Vartini (good change)
Ekadashi. Indira Ekadashi: It is believed that observing this Ekadashi vrat helps remove the sins committed by
oneself and one’s forefathers. Legend has it that King Indrasena, on Narada Muni’s advice, observed
Indira Ekadashi vrat and saved his father from the remorse of sins committed during earthly life.

Story Time — Modern Day Eklavya
Kaushal had seen eight Christmases. He loved school. He was an A+ student in all subjects except math. He
wished it were hereditary because his grandfather was a Math-viz. He also regularly attended VYOE classes.
He loved going to VYOE sessions. He had lots of friends there, and he loved all teachers. His favorite story was
Eklavya.
"Kaush! Come on, Beta! Time for bed", his Mom said from the kitchen, "Tomorrow you have math exam. You
should be in bed soon. Kaushal did DANDVAT to God and took blessings from his parents. He also took
blessing from his grandfather's picture set on his study and then he got in bed. As his mom was putting him in
bed, he said, "Can you tell me the story of Eklavya?" Kaushal fell asleep, before long.
He started dreaming about Eklavya. >>>> Dream <<<<
Eklavya had seen nine Diwalis. His parents were poor, living in a hut. His father was making a living by
hunting. Eklavya loved archery. He wanted to be the best archer in the world and he knew, he WOULD BE!
Eklavya had heard of the Guru Dron. Guru Dron was the best archery teacher. "Ma, I want to go see Guru Dron!" Eklavya said to his mom. "Son, Guru Dron is far away. Besides, he is teaching Royal children. He can't teach you!"
"Ma! I told you, he will teach me!! I have already made him my teacher!! I'm going to see him now. Papa, said
he was in the next town in a camp."
Eklavya goes to see Guru Dron. As his mother had said, he was full time teacher for the Royals. He could not
teach Eklavya. But Guru Dron gave blessing to Eklavya and said to him "Son, you can do anything you put your
mind to! My blessings are with you, beta!" Eklavya did not give up! He made a statue of Guru Dron and believed him to be his real teacher. He started
learning from him. Every day he would get up early, get blessing from his elders and Guru Dron and learn. Gradually, he became good at archery. His burning desire to become the best eventually made him so good
that he was able to shut a barking dog by stuffing arrows in dog's mouth without hurting the dog.
<<<< >>>>
In the meantime, Kaushal's alarm went off and he woke up. He had set alarm to get up early to study. Guru
Dron's words kept ringing in his mind; “Son, you can do anything you put your mind to! My blessing are with
you, Beta!” You put your mind to! ..... You put your mind to, Beta!
He was determined to do better in Math. All of a sudden, he got a bright idea! Why don’t I learn from my
Grandfather! He sat near his grandfather's picture. "Dada! Now you are my Math teacher!" And he started
solving Math problems. When he was baffled he would look at grandfather and WALLAH he would get the
answer. Problem after problem, he was able to understand the problem better and solve it!!
That day he came running in the house from school bus and handed the results to his Mom.
"Kaushal, how did you do it?” said Mom. Kaushal said: " Ma, I HAVE A NEW TEACHER!!!"
Kaushal's NEW teacher is a secret only he knows and he shared it with YOU!

Kids from VYOE Freehold NJ talking about their experience
I think about Jeje Shri everyday. I like coming and learning and doing things about Bhagwan. I like the songs
that Jeje recites. — Mira Trivedi (Age: 5)
I learned that Ram went to a vanvas for 14 years. I learned that Shri Mahaprabhuji saw Shri Yamunaji at a
pond. I think our Guru is telling us the right thing and we should follow it. You can learn a lot about God in
VYO. I think VYO is important because it teaches you about GOD. — Shreena Desai (Age: 8)
VYO is a very important learning experience for kids that would like to learn more about religion and practice
it. I got to learn about our culture and the qualities and gift we are all born with. The experience taught me
about values that my family stands for. VYO is a teaching foundation that changes ones feelings toward GOD
and the beliefs that we have been practicing since birth. — Rahil Gandhi (Age: 12)
VYO is a perfect way to connect with GOD. My favorite utsav celebrations are Holi, Ankut, Raas and the Kite
festival. I take great pride in being a part of VYO. Jeje Shri has worked very hard to make our Pushtimarg and
culture stand out all around the world. We as Vaishnavs should keep VYO close to our hearts and have others
take the benefit of our learnings. — Sahil Maher (Age: 10)
VYO is a program ran by Vrajraj Bawashri, which teaches young inexperienced Vaishnavs about Pushtimarg
and secures your belief in Krishna Bhagvan. It is very prominent and educational since it expands your
knowledge on our religion. We learned about Ramayan, which is the leela of the 7th avtar in which Sita Maiya
is abducted by Ravan, and Ram defeats Ravan and brings her back. The whole leela’s main goal was to get rid
of the evils of the world. Later on, we learned about gurus and how they are our guide. Also, we learned about
Mahaprabhuji, our guru, who gave us Brahmasambandh, a special ritual that bonds you to Krishna forever. We
were educated on Yamunaji, a special goddess who was our mother, and is beloved to Krishna. By reciting
Yamunashtak it gets you closer to Krishna. VYO taught us a lot of things this year. Moreover VYOE is a very
nice place. — Saanji Desai (Age: 12)
