For Immediate Release uKloo Enters the Dragon’s Den Local Toronto Entrepreneur Comes Face-to-Face with the Dragons on March 14 Toronto, Canada, March 9, 2012 – Aspiring entrepreneur Doreen Dotto pitched her business concept, uKloo Early Reader Treasure Hunt, to the Dragon’s Den. The segment where Dotto presented to a panel of Canadian business moguls who have the cash and the know-‐how make her business happen has been selected to air on Wednesday, March 14th, 2012 at 8pm on CBC Television. uKloo is a unique game conceived in hopes of helping young children learn to read. The game is designed for children four and up, and offers three levels of achievement for early readers. Since it’s taping in May of 2011, uKloo has established itself as a rising star in the Canadian game industry. Did Toronto mom and uKloo creator, Doreen Dotto use Dragon dollars and Dragon business muscle to propel uKloo into over 100 retailers across Canada and into North America’s best toy distributorships? Were the 8 awards from Canadian and US Toy industry experts the result of a Dragon partnership? Or, did Doreen move uKloo forward into critical acclaim independently? Find out on March 14th! Dotto was inspired to invent uKloo (pronounced you-‐clue) when her then young son, a reluctant reader, would hide when it was time to do his reading homework. She decided to approach the problem creatively, turn the tables and “hide the reading.” The result is a game with a unique take on “treasure hunting” that gets kids reading, laughing and learning with no idea that what they are doing is educational. And by the way, Doreen's son-‐-‐the reluctant reader-‐-‐is now a university student majoring in English Literature. uKloo’s journey into the toy and game world reads like the classic story of the “Little Engine that Could”. Created by a mom, desperate to help her child overcome reading insecurities, uKloo is now helping children across North America gain reading confidence through an engaging and fun game! Educational advisors and parents have successfully tested uKloo with young and beginner readers, ADHD and autistic children. “I am excited and nervous about the upcoming airing of my Den experience. But, more importantly, I am humbled by the recognition that uKloo has received. I am deeply grateful for all the moving letters and emails received from parents, language therapists, online reviewers and, most of all, kids who play the game," Dotto said. The Dragon’s Den has assisted worthy entrepeneures in launching new and unique products into the market place for 6 seasons. Please tune in to see how uKloo fared in the Den!
