Chamber Luncheon—August 18
Back to School!
Welcome New Rocky River Teachers
Help Us Welcome The New Teachers
You are invited to a luncheon at Westwood
Country Club on Thursday, August 18 as we welcome Rocky River’s newest teachers. Join us as
Rocky River City School District Superintendent
Dr. Michael Shoaf provides an update on the
district. Lutheran West High School’s new teachers will also
be introduced by principal Dale
Wolfgram. Unfortunately, Magnificat new teachers and president Jen
Halliday are unable to a=end.
As we welcome the newest educators to the
community at the Chamber luncheon, each
will receive a giJ bag filled with giJ cerficates, notepads, pens and more—all contributed by Chamber members. Every year,
the new teachers are overwhelmed by the
generosity of the business community when
they receive these giant giJ bags. Bags will
be given to educators from Rocky River City
School District, Lutheran West and Magnificat (although Magnificat teachers are unable to a=end).

If you would like to contribute an item (32 of each item) for

CASH MOB at The Woods!
“Quality is never an accident.”
I’ve tried my enre career to make sure
that my clients get the best! One way to
ensure that is to deliver the same, consistent service to everyone. “Everyone
gets the same size sucker!”
This year’s Leadercast presentaon also
talked about and maintained that
theme. It was a great experience seeing
and hearing from people who have an
impact on young adults to experienced
August 19-20
What’s a cash mob? Cash Mobs
are flash mobs, but instead of
singing and dancing we spend
money as a group! We target
the small, local businesses that
make each community special,
to give the business owners an economic smulus. We help
businesses grow, we meet new people and we get stuff for
ourselves!
adults.
How do you approach your business? Do you treat some people
different? Do you know if you do? How would you know?
When was the last me you surveyed your staff to see what
they are saying about you and your message? Do you have a
consistent message or does is change now and then?
If you noced, I didn’t ask you to survey your customers and
clients. Why not you ask? Didn’t feel the need…..they keep coming back. Must mean you are sasfying their needs. But are you
sure?
You have to start internally. You have to understand that your
message and ideas are being properly communicated by your
people and yourself. Represenng who you are, what your company does and how it is delivered is the key to delivering quality.
It is something that is not to be taken lightly.
Like success comes from making mistakes – quality also comes
from making mistakes. You have to make a few to understand
what customers want and how they want it. No one is perfect –
however you can certainly take acon and posion your company to provide the best it can.
Have you ever checked yourself or company on social media
sites? Any surprises? If so, what did you do? Everyone has an
opinion about everything! The difference for some is they express it out loud by telling the world. Others just don’t buy from
you again.
Why not determine your level of quality by having someone
who you know do a set up call to your place of business and ask
quesons that you have pre-determined, to see what your people are saying
Could be a surprise – hopefully not! Again – start internally with
your message. Then work from there. You have an image that
needs to be maintained and projected. That takes work!
Referrals are the best source of “free” markeng you can get.
The more people who become your markeng department, the
be=er. Help them to help you!
One of the greatest compliments you can get is people talking
about your business and it all comes back with the same comments – applause – praise and business to you.
Quality is never an accident! Believe it, work on it, have your
staff work on it.
The Rocky River Chamber will choose one local small retailer
or restaurant for a two-day cash mob almost every month.
The next business to be mobbed is The Woods Restaurant at
21919 Center Ridge Rd.
Sincerely,
Marc Hustek, Chair

Greengs Chamber members! My
name is Rick Gorski and I am the Invesgave Manager at Corporate Invesgave Services, Inc.
CIS, Inc. has been a member of the RRCOC since May of
2015. We were invited to join by the a=orneys at Ba=le &
Polly, LLC.
My wife Eileen and I reside in Olmsted Falls with our 3 children. We are both graduates of Lakewood High School, so
our roots are firmly entrenched here in Northeast Ohio. In
fact, I actually lived a street away from our Execuve Director during high school and never even knew it. I am a
diehard Cleveland sports fan (Thank you CAVS!!) and also
enjoy walking, biking, gardening and BBQ.
My invesgave career started by chance way back in 1988
when my brother-in-law (co-owner of CIS, Inc.) called me
one night and asked me if I’d assist him on some surveillance
cases. I agreed and immediately fell in love with the work
and as they say, the rest is history.
Nearly 30 years later, CIS, Inc. is sll going strong. We provide Worker’s Compensaon and Insurance Claims invesgaons. These typically include surveillance services, interviewing and statement taking, and witness locates. Business
Soluons include due diligence invesgaons, screening services such as background checks and fingerprinng services,
high risk terminaons, and TSCM/debugging/bug sweeps.
Special Services involve asset search invesgaons, ligaon
support invesgaons, security consulng, theJ invesgaons and covert camera installaons.
I can’t begin to tell you how impressed our company has
been by the community that is the Rocky River Chamber.
From the luncheons to the Expo, the Christmas party and the
many other great events, the members are truly invested in
building relaonships. Business relaonships yes, but as important or more importantly, lifelong personal relaonships.
I look forward to what the future will bring not only for CIS,
Inc., but for the community that is the Rocky River Chamber.

Greengs fellow Rocky River Chamber Members. I joined the RR Chamber in 2013, as I started my private corporate law pracce
following my rerement from PolyOne Corporaon (formerly
M.A. Hanna Company). Early in my 35 years as corporate
legal counsel, I had the good fortune of knowing Liz Manning’s father, John, who was highly respected as a leader of
M.A. Hanna’s marine services.
My wife Cheri and I have lived in the same house on Frazier
Drive in RR since our wedding at St. Christopher’s Church in
1981. My Chamber membership has given me great opportunies to meet new people and businesses, and to stay
abreast of developments within our wonderful community.
AJer graduang from Case Western Reserve Law School, I
was fortunate to serve two years as a law clerk to Judge Anthony Celebrezze (former mayor of Cleveland and HEW Secretary under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson) on the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. That experience taught
me how crical the rule of law is to our country and society.
As University of Arkansas Law Professor Michael Mullane
observed,
“[T]he rule of law . . . is our bulwark against both mob rule
and the overweening power of the modern state. . . . It is the
strongbox that keeps all our other values safe.”
In my private law pracce I focus on corporate and commercial legal ma=ers, and I strive to deliver cost-effecve, mely
legal soluons, supporng that “strongbox” for my clients’
business interests and values.

“The opportunity for networking that the Expo provides is very different from most events that we attend. It gives us a chance to
discuss the real estate market in a low key informational way with people who may be interested now or even later in the spring. I
like meeting other business people who we can refer our buyers and sellers to. It is also an exciting and very social event.”
