First observed in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate. Did you know there are more libraries in the U.S. than there are McDonald’s restaurants? Take a look at all our special events for National Library Week and plan to attend as many as you can. Our programs will help you plant your spring garden and get organized. Come and relax at our film, The Blind Side, on Saturday, April 16. Also during National Library Week, you will receive a small gift at the Circulation Desk when you check out our materials!
