Member Spotlight
He at h e r Bacus,SPHR,CCSHRM Me m b e r
Heather Bacus, SPHR , is the Director of Human Resources, with Charlotte County. She has been in the human
resource field over 17 plus years, in various fields including, government, public education, private education,
manufacturing and health care.
Heather earned her Master’s degree in Human Resource Development and received her SPHR in 2001. This is her
first year as a member with CCSHRM, but she had been a member of her local SHRM organization in Michigan since
2001.
Heather wanted a career with a variety as she was in constant need of a challenging environment. Heather said that
the last 17 years have been anything but “boring”, and that it doesn’t matter what field you work in, the issues
presented to an HR professional are very similar. Heather has a wonderful staff that is passionate about helping
people and that they all want to do what is best for anyone who crosses their paths. At the end of the day, it is about
satisfied customers and employees.
Heather is a new Floridian and has really been enjoying all that the weather has to offer. She plans to get very
involved so that Charlotte County can be considered her “home”. She is open to new challenges and believes there is
plenty of work ahead for Charlotte County and she is excited to be a part of it!
Please welcome Heather Bacus as a member of CCSHRM and as a “new” Floridian to Charlotte County.
