WHY DID YOU CHOOSE LACKAWANNA?
This is going to sound cliché, but I didn’t choose
Lackawanna; it chose me. My intention was to
enroll in the police academy, but I missed the
deadline. It wasn’t until I took a detour through
the main building that I felt something especially
welcoming about it. The next day I couldn’t get the
idea of going back to school off my mind.
WHO HAS BEEN HELPFUL TO YOU HERE AT
LACKAWANNA?
The easier question would be who hasn’t been
helpful, because that list would be shorter! From
the custodial staff who allowed me to stay in the
computer lab to finish a paper, to the president
who took the time to talk to me when I had an
issue, everyone has been there to help me in some
way or another.

WHAT IS THE BEST PART ABOUT TEACHING AT
LACKAWANNA COLLEGE?
The best part is the opportunity to continue learning.
By viewing my students’ education as a partnership,
I get to learn from their questions, observations, and
discussions.
WHAT SETS LACKAWANNA COLLEGE APART FROM
OTHER SCHOOLS?
One of the most important features of this institution
is the support so many departments provide to the
students. The faculty are fair, understanding, and
supportive of the students. We recognize that many
of our students are going to school, working jobs, and
have family lives outside of the classroom. By treating
our students as people, we live out the College’s
mission every day.

My coaches - mainly my soccer coach, Dan

in a while for fun with my sister!
