Tai Chi Chih, Joy Through Movement
T’ai Chi Chih (pronounced Tie Chee Chuh) is a contemporary
Qigong set, and can be considered a moving meditation.
According to Chinese medicine, “chi” is the vital life force or
life energy flowing through all living things. It is believed if the
chi is not flowing freely and in a balanced way, then disease may
occur in the body. The T’ai Chi Chih movements help to circulate
and balance the chi, resulting in a state of well being from the
inside out. Regular practice brings far-reaching benefits: improved
circulation, balance, coordination and flexibility, increased
energy, mental clarity, relaxation and reduction of stress. The
movements are easy to learn and suitable for those with arthritis
and fibromyalgia. Dress comfortably and wear flat soled shoes.

The iPad has simplified personal computing so that ANYONE

more complex desktop or laptop computer. Having an iPad is not a
prerequisite for this class. The goal of the evening is for students to
learn what they can do with an iPad. Topics will include: installing
apps, using the camera, using the web browser, using Skype and
Facetime, configuring and using email, configuring and using the
calendar, and connecting the iPad wirelessly to a television. Students
who own an iPad (of any model) are encouraged to bring it along
with them for the evening. Wireless internet (Wi-Fi) will be available
for access. This class is ideal for those who have just purchased an
iPad or for those who are thinking of making a purchase but want

Broken Trellis Quilt
Although these quilt blocks look like they are made with small
pieces of fabric, they are actually made by sewing straight seams of
fabric strips together. Then using a template at different angles,
the squares are cut. This gives the quilt a unique appearance. An
appliquéd border will be taught as an option for a strong contrast to
the pieced quilt top. Beginner or intermediate level class.

Painting with Michael
Step by step from beginning to finish, follow the instructions of
painter Michael Walker of York in this painting workshop. The
artist is currently experimenting with Neo-pastels which offer the
painter a dry water based pigment in stick form to paint on paper
without the watery mess of working in watercolors and without
the dusty mess of working with pastels. Another medium recently
being played with is the more well known oil pastels which boast
For directions visit www.wyasd.k12.pa.us or call 717.845.6634
the same attributes but are
a bit messy and have more
difficult clean up and storage
properties. Neo-pastels are,
in this artist’s view, the least
messy way to paint and are
therefore a great medium
to use in a home/studio or
outdoor setting where easy
cleanup is essential. Create
your own beautiful paintings
in the style of early twentieth
century French Impressionist
painters or perhaps your preference is self exploration, in that case
we will venture into the world of the European Expressionists of
the same era. Realize your potential as a creative person for your
own benefit and for others who will enjoy your artwork for years to
come. Visit www.WalkerArtStudio.weebly.com to view paintings

Taking Antibiotics? / What You Don’t Know! New!
Antibiotics are not what they used to be. Mass produced during
WWII to save the lives of our military, they were truly miracle drugs.
Scientists soon realized the increased toxicity of some organisms or
their resistance to antibiotics which can lead to poorly controlled
infections, limb amputation, organ failure and even shock or death
in some patients. It’s important for you to be aware of proper use
of antibiotics and non-drug controls to keep ahead of bacterial
survivalist methods (resistance). Please visit our website at www.

Attention Adult Education Registrants!
Register Early…Prompt registration helps avoid disappointment when classes fill quickly. It also
helps avoid the disappointment of canceling a class due to low enrollment, only to find that last
minute registrations would have filled it.
Register for a Class in any School District…You can register for any class in any of the
Cooperating School Districts at no additional cost.
No News is Good News…Consider yourself registered for a class unless you receive your check
back in the mail. Your check may be held until the registration deadline to be sure there are
enough registrants to hold the class. To help keep the classes reasonably priced, we do not send
out confirmation notices.
For Emergency Cancellations…When bad weather or other emergencies cause cancellation of
the regular school day, Community Education activities scheduled during that evening will not
be held. Please tune into your local television station or go to the district website for information
about closings.
Spring Class Registration Deadline is February 28th
Unless otherwise noted
