PENTECOST SUNDAY – MAY 24, 2015
Family Meals + Family Prayer + Sunday Mass =
Stronger Families AND Stronger Marriages
LEG #2 FAMILY PRAYER
PARISHIONERS’ SPEAK
Rosary convert:
from Boring to Beautiful
I have heard some people say they can't stand saying the rosary. I used to be one of those people.
However, I learned over Ɵme, that the reason why
I found the rosary boring is because as I would say
the monotonous litany of Hail Mary's, my mind
would wander onto the plans of the day, what I
had leŌ for homework or what TV show I was
missing. I was absorbed in my life and it's no wonder I found this Ɵme so boring--I was thinking of
me. But as I learned the proper way to pray the
rosary (vocal AND MeditaƟve prayer) I learned
about God. I learned about the birth of Jesus,
about how Mary and Joseph felt losing Him in the
Temple, about the death of Jesus and the resurrecƟon. My mind became immersed in the familiar
passages of scripture, and with the prayers of Hail
Mary's aiding me in my meditaƟon, I was able to
go deeper. I do not find the rosary boring anymore; I find it beauƟful. I find it beauƟful because I
am meditaƟng on the mysteries of God. I find it
beauƟful because for once, for fiŌeen minutes, I
am not thinking about myself. I am thinking of
Him
