STEWARDSHIP CORNER
NATIONAL VOCATIONS AWARENESS WEEK
November 1-7, 2015
For information, call the Parish Office at 242-7967.
During this week, please pray about how God is calling you
to live your vocation more deeply. Encourage the young
people in your life-children, grandchildren, students and
friends to be open if God calls them to the priesthood or
religious life. For more information go to
www.thinkpriest.org.
Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
In the Gospel today, the owner of the vineyard sent
messengers to collect his share of the harvest from the
tenant farmers, but there was not a single good steward on
the property! God is the owner, we are the tenants. What
sort of stewards are we?
Have you considered including a memorial to Lumen
Christi Church or School in your will or estate plan?
OCTOBER IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH!
The Lumen Christi Respect Life Committee will once again
have their display of free literature, books , DVDs and
bumper stickers on tables in the foyers in both
Thiensville and Mequon in recognition of Respect Life
Month. Please take a moment to select any items of interest
to take home and share with others. We have practical
information on pregnancy resources for women, how to
speak about abortion and about healing in its aftermath,
adoption, capital punishment, contraception, natural family
planning, euthanasia, and many other topics relating to
Human Dignity and the family. The display will be set up
from Saturday, October 3 until Friday, October 9, 2015. If
you would like to join our efforts, please let us know by
signing up at our tables or by contacting Kerry at 414-559
-1032.
AGE OF WISDOM MEETING
Tuesday, October 6 at 1:30 pm in St James Hall
Our speaker will be Laura Schimberg, Elder Benefits
Specialist, from Ozaukee County Aging and Disability
Resource Center. Laura will talk about Health Care Options
for Seniors.
40 DAYS FOR LIFE
40 Days for Life is the largest internationally coordinated prolife mobilization in history, helping people in local communities
end the injustice of abortion through prayer and fasting,
community outreach, and peaceful vigil. Since 2007, over
650,000 volunteers in 579 cities and 30 nations have helped
to save 10,331 lives, and brought about the conversion of 118
abortion workers and the closing of 60 abortion centers!
Please join the Lumen Christi Parish Respect Life Committee
now until November 1, 2015 in local efforts to end abortion in
our community and around the world. For more information,
go to https://40daysforlife.com/local-campaigns/milwaukee/,
or contact Kerry at 414-559-1032.

DID YOU KNOW?
Lumen Christi has a Poor Box at our
Mequon church site. Being both a
stewardship and evangelizing parish
we are called to help those who may be
struggling financially at times in their lives.
We have a fund called Helping Hands to assist with various
requests from parishioners. All donations are greatly
appreciated. Thank you for your continued generosity.
STEWARDSHIP OF TREASURE 2015 TWELVE WEEK REPORT
Below is a summary of Lumen Christi’s Fiscal Year to Date Envelope and Offertory Contributions
through September 20, 2015 as compared to the first twelve weeks of Fiscal 2015.
Actual Envelopes and Offertory 12 weeks into Fiscal 2015
Actual Envelopes and Offertory 12 weeks into Fiscal 2016
Amount over (under) last year
$ 499,600
$ 474,400
$ (25,200)
As we are receiving the generous offerings for our Building Fund and other ministries, one can see that our regular offerings
have fallen behind slightly as shown above. The amount that we are behind at this point is not cause for alarm, but it is
important that our ongoing ministries continue to grow and thrive. To that end, we respectfully ask that you avoid giftshifting, that is, diverting a portion of your general fund giving to the building fund. Our first priority of giving is our general
fund offerings. Lumen Christi Parish is very blessed and grateful to have such dedicated parishioners sharing their
stewardship of time, talent and treasure. THANK YOU to all who support our parish!
