A Busy Start to 2016
Things tend to slow down in Wisconsin during the winter months, but that didn’t stop the
Friends of the Jonathan Clark House. During the first quarter of 2016, board members, staff
and volunteers worked diligently to educate the community about JCH.
In January, the Annual Meeting was held at Spectrum Investments in Mequon and all
nominations for the Board of Directors were approved. Also during the month—on probably the two coldest days of the year—a small group of diehard volunteers were available as
Open Houses were made available to the public.
February proved to be equally as busy. The Pink Llama Gallery in Cedarburg hosted a
fundraiser to benefit JCH. Event attendance was very good, and visitors enjoyed delicious
food and fantastic company as they helped to raise both money and awareness. Later in the
month volunteers staffed booths at the Mequon Nature Preserve during their Winter Frolic
and at Cedarburg’s Winter Festival.
And lastly, a very successful open house was held in March. The event garnered good
press on TV and in the local newspaper (see page 4).
