Ladies Auxiliary
Newsletter - Feburary, 2016
We are still recruiting new members and urging our unpaid continuous members to pay
their 2016 dues. Unless your dues are paid, you are no longer considered a member in
good standing. We are doing very well; leading our district in membership. Remember, if
your dues aren’t paid, you are no longer eligible for a cancer grant.
Our next district meeting is being held February 6
th
@10AM in St. Cloud. This is a
memorial service for our deceased members. Anyone wishing to go, let me know, and we
can carpool.
The post is holding a Valentine’s dinner and dance on February 13
th
. There will be great
entertainment with Deney Terrio (Dance Fever) and Charlie. They entertained us for our
Christmas Social, and were very well received. Our auxiliary has a booze basket with a lot
of good liquor. Come out, have a good time, and support our post and auxiliary.
It is not too early to be thinking about our auxiliary election for the 2016-2017 year.
Consider stepping up and being a leader of this wonderful organization. You don’t need
any experience, and I would certainly guide you along the way. If interested, let me know.
Some of you may not be aware that our district has an auxiliary luncheon the first
Wednesday of the month. The luncheon is held at different posts in the district at noon.
The next luncheon is February 3
rd
in Cocoa Beach. If you are interested in attending, let
me know.
Our Sister, Patty Strahan, passed away January 28
th
. Our condolences go out to her
fiancé, Ray Rea and her family. Patty was one of our newest members, but she made a big
impact on everyone she met. She will be sorely missed.

HOUSE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
FEBURARY 2016
February is upon us and the Post has several activities scheduled for our
member’s. We have a great event scheduled for February 13th for
Valentine’s Day. We are having a wonderful dinner and dance with
entertainment provided by Deney Terrio (please see the flyer for details).
Additionally, we have a great “basket of cheer” we are raffling off.
Please see your bartender for tickets for the basket as well as tickets for
the Valentine’s Day Dinner.
We have resumed our efforts to upgrade our roadside sign and are still
accepting donations for this project. We are planning a fund raiser for
March 13th with food and entertainment. Details should be available soon
so we will keep you posted.
We are always working to improve your Post. We have completed several
projects and planning is in the works for future improvement projects. As
always, volunteers are needed to keep our Post running. Look for a signup sheet next to the kitchen for various projects and events.
I am sure many of you have great ideas for improving our Post. I really
would like to hear from you. Just fill out a comment card or drop a note
in the House Committee Chairman’s mail box located in the lobby.
We welcome new members to our Post and Auxiliary. If you know of
anyone who is eligible and may be interested in joining us, pick up an
application and calendar of events and ask them to come in and join the
greatest Veteran’s organization in the world. We would love to welcome
them to our Post.
