FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL VISITORS, CANAL DAYS HAS A STRICT
NO PETS POLICY. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR ANIMALS AT HOME.
It is with a great deal of community pride that I extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the
City of Port Colborne – by working together, our community offers you a vibrant, active and fun
destination that ensures your visit is one that you will never forget.
It is a pleasure to present to you our 38th annual Canal Days – a celebration of our community’s
Marine Heritage along the Lake Erie shores of Niagara’s South Coast.
This year we welcome back the tall ship Empire Sandy, the working fire boat - E.M. Cotter, the
Canadian Coast Guard and an armada of lakers traveling through the Historic Welland Canal.
From lock to lake, the entire family will enjoy a stroll from Lock 8 Gateway Park to our Historical
and Marine Museum and on to Seaway Park for the children’s entertainment. Browse along
quaint West Street to H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park to enjoy the kite flying and car show and the
Sugarloaf Marina. If music is your passion, take in live entertainment at the Market Square,
the Clarence Street Connection or the Roselawn Centre for the Living Arts. Crafters fill the Vale
Health & Wellness Centre along with games and fun for the whole family at the YMCA.
The City of Port Colborne, within the beautiful Niagara Region has become a destination.
We are celebrating our past, our present and our future as Niagara’s Economic Gateway.
Experience the sites and sounds of Niagara’s South Coast.
Experience Port Colborne.

Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum
More than a Museum!
Canal Days at the Museum is your destination for marine displays and photographs as
well as railway, airplane and ship models. Enjoy
the Great Lakes Model Boat Association’s
remote control boat show in action and the
Niagara Antique Power Association’s demonstrations from corn shucking to steam whistles. Watch artisans demonstrate blacksmithing, woodcarving, wool spinning, and rope
ladder-making throughout the heritage village.
Visit with the 2nd Regiment Lincoln Militia
1812 re-enactors. The whole family can enjoy
some toe-tapping live Folk and Maritime music
under a canopy of shade. Satisfy your taste
buds with food prepared by Mary Jane Smith
from Riverside Berry Farm. Savour tea and
freshly-baked biscuits in Arabella’s Edwardian
Tea Room. Explore our exhibits in the main
gallery: Call to Action ! Port Colborne Under
Threat. In honour of the 150th anniversary
of the Fenian Invasion, this exhibit explores
the important role of the Canadian Militia in
this conflict. Commemorating 100 years since
the start of prohibition in Ontario, The Noble
Experiment – Temperance & Prohibition is a
travelling exhibit from the Peterborough museum focusing on the debates about alcohol.
Pulling Into Port: the most recent ship models
in the museum’s collection are showcased in
