It is a pleasure to present to you our 38th annual Canal Days – a celebration of our community’s Marine Heritage along the Lake Erie shores of Niagara’s South Coast. This year we welcome back the tall ship Empire Sandy, the working fire boat - E.M. Cotter, the Canadian Coast Guard and an armada of lakers traveling through the Historic Welland Canal. From lock to lake, the entire family will enjoy a stroll from Lock 8 Gateway Park to our Historical and Marine Museum and on to Seaway Park for the children’s entertainment. Browse along quaint West Street to H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park to enjoy the kite flying and car show and the Sugarloaf Marina. If music is your passion, take in live entertainment at the Market Square, the Clarence Street Connection or the Roselawn Centre for the Living Arts. Crafters fill the Vale Health & Wellness Centre along with games and fun for the whole family at the YMCA. The City of Port Colborne, within the beautiful Niagara Region has become a destination. In honour of the 150th anniversary of the Fenian Invasion, this exhibit explores the important role of the Canadian Militia in this conflict.
