Rosalind Wiseman's "Queen Bees and Wannabes", a massive bestseller and the basis of the hit
film “Mean Girls,” upended assumptions regarding the behaviors of adolescent girls. In this GPS
workshop, Wisemen reveals the way boys think, and demonstrates to professionals and parents
alike how to reach out to and assist adolescent boys in overcoming their most difficult challenges.
In her presentation, Wiseman will provide insight into such topics such as cliques and social
hierarchy, lying, social networking, anxiety, and conflicts with parents. Those who attend this
workshop will receive an unprecedented guide into the true life that boys experience, and gain insight
into an adolescent boy’s on-the-ground reality. Not only does Wiseman challenge her audience to reexamine currently held assumptions, but she offers innovative, real-world coping strategies aimed at helping boys
(and girls) to develop a positive, authentic, and strong sense of self.
