CT Rush Programs
Full Roster – Are expected to attend all practices and games.
Practice Roster Players - are those players that have been identified as players with
potential to become full roster players but may need to develop a particular area of their
game. For example – A player may be very talented but may need to improve their
decision making skills which may limit their success rate. In this situation CT Rush will
work very hard to strengthen this department of the players’ game to improve the players
success rate which in turn aids the players all round development.
The Rush Skills Academy – is offered to all current members of the club as well as
players involved in other programs not associated with CT Rush and are looking for
extra training with Rush qualified coaches.
The Juniors Program is for players aged U6/U7 and is a unique opportunity to
introduce your child to soccer and runs in conjunction with the U8/9 Developmental
program. The Juniors program will give your son/daughter a great start to this lifetime
sport and will also prepare them for Rush U8/U9 developmental soccer. We aim to
develop each individual players motor skills, ball skills, and concepts of small-sided
games. The emphasis is firmly on FUN! We at CT Rush Central, feel that players will be
more comfortable and develop faster in a fun, competitive type of environment.

Soccer Balls
All players should have a ball that is pumped up. This enables them to practice at home. It is
important that players bring their ball to practices. This allows each players to each have a ball
for individual training drills. We advise you to write your name (and phone number) on your ball
so it will not be lost in the crowd. Should you forget your ball, let your coach know so he/she can
borrow you a ball. People without experience should not use the air compressor as it can easily
over-inflate them causing the stitching to tear or at worst explode. If you are not sure how to use
it then as your coach.
There are different sizes of balls:
·
Under 6s to U8s use a size 3 ball
·
Under 10s to 12s use a size 4 ball
·
Under 13s and above use a size 5 ball
Field of Play & Number of Players

·
Field size for U5-U8 players is reduced for small- sided play.
U9 to U11 play 8v8 on small sided fields

CT Rush Philosophy
Rush believes that the cliché “the game is the best teacher”, is a creed to live by. 90% of our
work is done on the practice field. This is where all of the players are challenged, placed under
pressure and are given a vast amount of important information to be successful in games. We
give all of our players as many tools as possible that during games which is seen as the test,
the players have an adequate amount of tools necessary in order to be successful. We do not
believe in standing on the sidelines screaming at our players, instead we encourage problem
solving but we do have moments where we provide our players with necessary information.
The Rush Way to Play
The Rush Way to Play is based upon movement and activity by both player and ball.
Possession-oriented does not fully describe how we play; attack-oriented does. Whether in
possession or in defense, we are attacking. Rush players play with freedom yet understand the
importance of responsibility and the balance between the two. Rush teams are flexible and
adapt to varying circumstances. The Rush Way to Play represents both passion and purpose
Coach Education
This is a fundamental part of success. At CT Rush we believe that the education of our players
comes first from the education of the coaches. The commitment from Rush to educate our
coaches and employees is of the highest priority.
Coaches are a huge part of player development and need to constantly learn to find effective
ways of teaching the game in order to promote player growth and success at all levels. The CT
Rush staff hold weekly informational and educational sessions to ensure that even at the
highest level of coaching and administration within the organization there is still continuing
growth and the desire to improve. Coaches’ educational sessions include, meetings, coaches’
clinics, session plans, coaches’ evaluation, feedback & coaching licensing.

!
Player Development
At CT Rush, we are constantly looking for different ways to develop our players and place them
in environments where they can mature into talented soccer player and improve their soccer
knowledge. It is important for all of our players to be confident and comfortable whenever they
step foot onto the soccer field. We work tirelessly to ensure that our players are placed in a fun
but competitive environment where they are not afraid of making mistakes. We encourage our
players to be creative without the fear of failure in addition to being comfortable on the ball. We
acknowledge every player as an individual and take into consideration that different players
have different learning styles therefore our coaches’ approach to the players may vary in order
to maximize each players potential. Whether your son/daughter needs a more direct coaching
approach where they are constantly places under pressure and challenged or they need to be
taken aside and set personal goals to build their confidence.
Greeting
The Rush staff across the country expect there players to shake their coaches hand each time
they meet. We even expect the player to give each other hi-fives at the beginning and end of
each practice! Why?...respect, build social skills, break down barriers, learn culturally excepted
behavior, the list goes on.
Practice vs Games
Practice and game attendance is optional for all levels of player within the Rush Organization.
Players who wish to become better and succeed within the game will attend as many practices
and games as possible with the attitude of wanting to leave a better player. The Rush staff
encourage all players to attend practices and games with a positive attitude and ready to work
hard.
“Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.”

The Rush Way
“The Rush Way”
‘Where the Trails of Passion and Purpose Meet
Begins the Path to Victory’
The Rush Way is the embodiment of all that is Rush Soccer; the rules and manner in which
Rush members hold themselves and how they expect other Rush members to conduct
themselves.
This is not inherent in all people, but can be learned. The Rush Way encourages passion,
leadership, respect and, above all, quality.
The following is a summation of the Rush Way. It is by no means all inclusive, but enough to
provide an idea of what it means to wear the Rush colors and be part of the best.
Rush Brand
All who represent the Rush are representing the Rush brand and tens of thousands of people
throughout the country. The Rush stands for excellence, passion, desire, commitment and
respect.
Rush – A Coaches Run Organization
What sets Rush apart from most every club in the country is the fact that the coaches run the
organization. All decisions are made or delegated by the elite coaching staff assembled at every
Rush Branch Chapter.
Each decision has the basic foundation of ‘what is best for the player and what is best for
soccer’. Keeping this in the forefront of all thoughts ensures the right decision is always made.
