Account Update
How to complete One-Time Account Update
The Quick Reference Guide shows what existing SingPass users need to do when logging in to the enhanced SingPass service for the first time.
1) You will need to check or update your contact details. This is so that we can notify you when key SingPass activities take place.
2) You will also need to set up two security questions and answers. With this setup, you will be able to reset your password online and
immediately if you forget your password in the future.

After you click “Login” from
any government website or
e-Service, the SingPass
login page will be
displayed.
(a) Enter your SingPass
ID.
(b) Enter password.
(c) Click the “Login” button
to proceed.

If

your password within the
past 2 years, you will be
asked to change your
password upon login.
(d) Enter new password

(e) Click “Submit”.
Note: Please note these
guidelines when setting
your password:



Password cannot be
the same as User ID
Password to be
between 8 – 24
alphanumeric
characters, preferably
containing upper case
letters and symbols,
with at least 1 letter and
1 number.
Common passwords
are disallowed, e.g.,
“password123”,
“pwd12345”.

account, ensuring that you
are updated of all activities
related to your SingPass
account.
Note:
 It is mandatory to
provide your mobile
number if you have a
local address registered
with the Government.


contact, it is also
mandatory to enter your
email address.

Each mobile number
should only be linked to
one SingPass account.

A One-Time Password
(OTP) will be sent via SMS
to your mobile so as to
verify that you have entered
the correct mobile number.
You should receive this
OTP within one minute of
your request.

(a) Enter the 6-digit OTP.
(b) Click “Continue” to
proceed.

Please note that this OTP
will expire within five
minutes of receipt. If you do
not receive the mobile OTP
after one minute, you may
click on the “Resend OTP”
link to request for a new
OTP.

If you have provided your
email address, a separate
One-Time Password (OTP)
will also be sent to your
email so as to verify that
you have entered the
correct email address. You
should receive this email
OTP within one minute of
your request.

(b) Click “Continue” to
proceed.

Please note that this OTP
will expire within five
minutes of receipt. If you do
not receive the email OTP
after one minute, you may
click on the “Resend OTP”
link to request for a new
OTP.
Note:
 Email OTP that will be

and different from SMS

mobile phone.

sensitive. Please set up a
minimum of 2 security
questions so that you can

trying to access.

A notification letter will also
be mailed to your registered
address to inform you of the
successful account update
within 4 working days for
local addresses. This will
take more than four working
days to be delivered to
overseas addresses.
