USER GUIDELINES
USER REGISTRATION PROCESS
To use the e-Demand Module of Indian Railways, an individual needs to be registered as
a User on this module. User Registration process is a three stage process:
1. Pre-registration by filing the details on the Website and uploading the scanned
copies of the documents required
2. Activate the pre-registration details by using the Activation link from the e-Mail
and providing the OTP received on the registered mobile
3. Verification by the Railway Authority (Sr. DCM) by verifying the physical
documents provided in the pre-registration process
Steps to follow for the registration process:
1. Open the following website in the web browser of your computer system
https://www.fois.indianrail.gov.in/
2. Make sure that Internet is running
3. Click on the e-Demand link on right site of the web page
4. Alternatively, Go to E-Services menu on the top and click on its E-Demand
submenu

5. Following web page opens in the new browser window
6. For new user click on the link at upper right side corner
7. Enter the details required in STEP-1 and then click Next button below
 Make sure that you provide your correct email id and mobile number
 All fields which are suffixed by * are mandatory
8. In STEP-2, enter the details mentioned in screen below
 Your picture should be .jpg, .jpeg or. png format
 It should be of maximum 200 KB in size
 All other uploads should be below 1 MB in size

9. Select and answer any two of the Security Question listed below
 This will assist you, if incase you forget your password
10. After filling all entries, click on Next
11. In STEP-3, you can enter your organizational details along with authority
information
 You have option to register for multiple organizations and its respective
locations (Zone/Division/Station)
 Ensure that you enter correct capcha code before you submit your
registration details for verification
 You also have an option to check and edit the information saved in previous
two step by clicking on back button

12. After clicking on submit button, system check your entries
 Prompt will be given in case of missing or incorrect data
13. After validation, system will save your record for verification
14. You will receive an acknowledgement on your registered email id and on the
mobile number provided by you
15. You will receive an email from: no-reply.fois@cris.org.in with an activation link
16. Clicking this activation link will take you to the screen shown below:
17. Enter the OTP that you received on your phone number here and click on
activate account
18. In case you do not receive the OTP, you can regenerate the OTP by pressing the
‘Re-Generate OTP’ button on the Screen
19. After verification and submission, you will receive a message that you need to
visit the divisional office with original documents, whose copy you have
uploaded for physical verification
20. On physical verification, you will again receive an email and a phone message to
complete the registration process with the new OTP (One Time Password)

21. On first time login, you will be forced to change your Password
22. Finally, you will be allowed to use the e-Demand Module as per your role
assigned by Sr DCM during the user verification process
23. Based on your role, you will be able to see different Menu items and the
tasks/queries to proceed further
24. Also the profile details can be viewed in the Administration menu, from where
you can change your password through the ‘Change Password’ option
25. The link for the Rates Branch System (RBS) for routes and distance and various
Rate Circulars issued by Railway Board can be viewed from the login screen
