CAMBRIA LIONS CLUB NEWSLETTER SEPT 2015 Cambria Lions CONGRATULATIONS to all for a successful Pinedorado weekend!!!!!!! Greetings fellow Lions: We had the pleasure of welcoming two new member in August. "Ayen Johnson joined us on August 11th, followed by Gary Stephenson" "on August 25th. It was, also, our pleasure to honor our Pinedorado" "Parade Grand Marshall, Bud and Viv Goff the evening of the 25th." August was a very productive month getting ready for Pinedorado. The grounds are all spiffed up and looking good. Thanks go out to all the "hard working Lions, young (some very young we were lucky to have" "able sons and daughters helping out) and old. We, also, had the CUHS" "Football team come out and set up the tables, benches, game booths, " etc. for us. Our thanks to Andy Zinn for making the arrangement that saved many weary backs. "Lani Zaragoza may not be a Lion, but she has put in Lion size efforts" in Chairing the 67th annual Pinedorado Parade. We had over 70 "entrants, including one from Lions Farmer's Market. Through her" "contacts, we will have the CCC helping marshall the parade, man " barricades and clean up after. WWW.PINEDORADO.COM PAGE 1 CAMBRIA LIONS CLUB NEWSLETTER SEPT 2015 "We are, also, making progress in our utilization of the Pinedorado" "Grounds for other events. As previously mentioned, on Sept 29-30 the" "Arthritis Classic Bike Ride will be in town. On Oct 3rd, the Scarecrow" Festival will be using the grounds for an information center for locals and tourists. Their advertising will include Lions as partners in the event. A chance meeting with Roy and Reenie Hammand was delightful. They are both looking so well. Ellie and I visited Marshall Gilston a couple weeks ago; always a pleasure and learning experience. A reminder that the next meeting is September 22nd at Fog's End. Another "reminder, that I will be gone from Sept 9-16 (in North Dakota) and Ramon Reza” will be gone from Sept 12-28. One or the other of us will be available for the Thursday in the office. "Sadly, we lost Roger Smith, Bill Woeffel and, more recently, Wayne" "Smith's beautiful wife, Gloria. Our thoughts and prayers are with" the families. Thank you.
