01/12 – 02/15/2012 Dear Friends of the Samuel Foundation! Even though the year 2012 is already in full swing, I would like to invite you to look back with us at the past year. In 2011, the staff of the Samuel Foundation once again put all their efforts into the implementation of our training programme, in order to create future prospects to as many young people as possible. All in all, 269 students successfully completed their professional training in our training centres in India, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. These are 82 % of those who started their training 16-19 months ago. Despite rather difficult conditions due to the general economic situation, 181 students, which is around 67 % of all graduates, had obtained a permanent employment by the end of January – 42 of them in India, 62 in Costa Rica and 77 in Nicaragua. In Thailand, all of our 24 Samuel students passed to the next respective grade. 6 of them successfully completed their vocational education, half of which are already working in their profession. Of course, the Samuel Foundation will concentrate its efforts to find adequate employment for the remaining 30 % as soon as possible. To all of you, who again actively supported us in 2011, I would like to say thank you, and share with you some pictures of our proud and overjoyed graduates. Cordially yours, Martin Barth 01/12 − 02/15/2012 − Page 2 Graduation Ceremony in India of 11/12/2011 Left: Dr. S.C.L. Gupta of the Legislative Assembly in Delhi at his speech to the graduates.
