104: Status of the Newly Proposed
Procurement Rules
The School District Procurement Rules have
not had a major revision since 1988!
Obviously, some things have changed since
then. A group of school district purchasing
professionals is currently working with the
State Board of Education, the Auditor General
and the Attorney General to update the rules
in their entirety. Final approval of the rule
revisions will be up to the State Board of
Education. Find out what changes are in store
for this major procurement rules revision.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION FEES:
Through Tuesday, January 15, 2013—$90 for members and $105 for non-members. After January 15,
2012—$100 for members and $115 for non-members. Registration fee includes continental breakfast,
refreshments, lunch and conference materials. Seating is limited due to room capacity. Register early
to ensure availability.
JOINT CONFERENCE DISCOUNT FOR VENDOR-BUYER AND WINTER CONFERENCE:
The Vendor-Buyer Conference and the Winter Conference on Audit and Compliance are being offered
back to back at the same location. The Vendor/Buyer Conference is Tuesday, January 29 and the Winter
Conference is Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Both are to be held at the Mesa Hilton East Phoenix
Conference Center in Mesa, AZ. AASBO would like to offer a 10% discount on each registration

If you would like to attend this conference, but do not wish to become a member, please go to
www.aasbo.org and click on the “Join Now” link at the top. Then, select the “Non-Member” option. This
will take you through the steps to register with our website. This will enable you to register for any
event we have, but will not give you access to the members only pages. Once you have registered with
our website, please log-in and follow the steps below in the “Members” instructions.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations will be accepted up to five (5) business days prior to the day of the conference, with
refunds being issued minus a $25 processing fee. CANCELLATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED VIA E-MAIL TO:
danderson@aasbo.org or asanchez@aasbo.org OR FAXED TO 602-253-5764. NO SHOWS will be
charged the full conference registration fee, there will be NO REFUNDS FOR NO SHOWS.

AASBO has arranged for a special rate of $129/ night at the Mesa Hilton Phoenix East on Monday,
January 28, Tuesday, January 29 and Wednesday, January 30, 2012. For reservations at please visit call
the hotel directly at 480/833.5555. Mention the full name of “Arizona
Association of School Business Officials” and they will honor your
discounted room rental. Rooms may also be available for the
period of three days prior and three days post conference. Subject to
availability. If available, the hotel will honor the discount pricing for
this duration.
