Children’s & Family Ministry Fall Festival Monday, October 31st 6:00‐8:00pm Everyone is invited to come enjoy a night of fun, food, games and prizes. Come dressed in a costume or as yourself! (Ghoulish or scary costumes are discouraged) We are collecting individually wrapped candy in the Welcome Center. Sign up in your Sunday School Class to help with games and activities. Spaghetti Scholarship Lunch Come enjoy lunch to benefit the Youth Scholarship Program on Sunday, October 9th following the 11am Worship Service. Lunch includes spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert. Take‐out is available after Sunday School at 10:45. Magnify Youth Conference When: October 28, 5‐10pm & 29, 8am‐6pm Where: Northside Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC Cost: $35/youth & $65/adults (Church pays for chaperones) This conference allows our youth and parents to learn from the best on how to understand and explain their personal faith in Jesus Christ. A Youth Girls Weekend Retreat When: November 11‐13 Where: Piney Creek, NC Cost: $25.00 This retreat will focus on many of the issues teens struggle with today such as: peer relationships, bully‐
ing, depression and fear all within teacher‐led and small group environments. Sign up in the Youth Room. Breakaway Wednesday Nights from 7‐8pm, “free” time at 6:30pm Magnify The fall session of “Magnify” will began Sept 18 and will continue each Sunday night through Dec 4. WMU & Women’s Ministry Mother and Children’s House MAC House has an immediate need for one of their mothers moving out. She is in need of furniture to set up a new household. If you are able to help with a donation please contact Tracy Sittig. Sunday Night Bible Study “Here and Now...Then and There” We will not meet on October 2nd to participate in the Revival Service. Bible Study will resume October 9th. For those wanting to go to the Janet Paschal Concert, you can view the Bible Study video on Wednesday night, October 12th in the Women’s Ministry Room. Women’s Event at The Refuge The Awaken Women’s Ministry at The Refuge has invited the women of Parkwood to hear Guest Speaker Lisa Whittle, friend of Rev. John Johnson, give a devotion on her new book {W}HOLE: THE BOOK. The event is at The Refuge on Thursday, October 13th at 7pm. Visit her website to learn more about Lisa’s story: www.lisawhittle.com. God’s Girlz Night Out The next night out is October 14th at Meredith Jones’ Home from 6‐8pm. God’s Girlz exists to promote friendships & mentoring relationships between tweens, teens and women. Girls fellowship with other girls and adult mentors at the host home. A short devotion or Bible study lesson is presented. We are currently offering this for girls in grades 3‐8. Transition House Ministry Volunteers are needed on the 2nd Thursday during the months of October and December. Volunteers are asked to prepare a meal, deliver and dine with 5 women and 12 children. come Center to volunteer or contact Meredith Jones for more information. Candy Cane Brunch Please join us for a Candy Cane Brunch on Saturday, December 3rd from 9:00‐11:00am in the FMC Confer‐
ence Room. This will be a fun‐filled morning where we will focus on worship, fellowship, and the Christ‐
mas story. We are also using this time to collect items for the Cri‐
sis Pregnancy Center (CPC). Judy Cook will be speak‐
ing about the ministry of CPC and how you can get involved. We will be collecting items for them as well in this season of giving. Items needed include: Dia­

Sunday School Meeting Pastor Waters would like to meet with all Sunday School Teachers and Officers on Wednesday, October 12th from 6:15‐6:45pm in the Sanctuary to discuss preparations for Sunday School High Attendance Day coming up on November 6th. Heaven Sent Ministries The Ohio Hunger Challenge for Heaven Sent Ministries is a little more than halfway to the goal of $60,000 for 216,000 meals. The date for packaging the food has been moved from mid‐September to November 10th‐
13th.
