ENTRY INFORMATION
 Be sure to include the correct fees. Overpayments less than $5 will not be refunded. Check or money
order only – No Cash.
 All entries must be submitted on official AKC agility entry forms, one dog per entry form. Photocopies of
front & back will be accepted only if legible and official AKC size
 Entries will not be accepted without signature, back of entry form with agreement, or fees, nor will
telephone or FAX entries be accepted.
 Owners are responsible for ensuring that entry forms are completed IN FULL. Entries submitted without
ALL information will be returned as invalid. ***PLEASE WRITE EMAIL ADDRESS LEGIBLY!!!
 Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry. A $30.00 service fee will be added for all returned checks.
 Overnight service MUST be mailed through USPS and you MUST check AND sign the “NO SIGNATURE

Go to the AKC Agility Online Entry Services home page at www.akc.org/AgilityEntry and follow the
instructions there to use your My AKC account to enter this event online.
During the first 48 hours after opening, the initial limit of entries designated as either online or
paper will be as follows: 25% online entries (165 runs) and 75% paper entries (495 runs). If either
form of entry has not filled at the end of the 48 hour time period, the club reserves the right to
decrease or increase either one accordingly.

 An entry which is missing any AKC required information

 A maximum of ten entries per envelope is allowed. Envelopes with more than the ten dog maximum shall

Wait List for Withdrawn Entries after Closing
CDCA is offering a Wait List to fill openings created by withdrawn entries after the trial's closing on
November 8, 2016. A maximum of 20 entries will be placed on the wait list. All entries, including
wait listed entries, must be received by the Trial Secretary prior to the trial closing date. Any
entries withdrawn that are received by Sunday, November 20, 2016 @ noon will be replaced by a
wait listed entry if any are available. If a withdrawn entry is replaced by a wait listed entry, a full
refund will be issued for the withdrawn entry. Any wait listed entry that does not move off the wait
list into the trial by Sunday, November 20, 2016 @ noon will receive a full refund.
If you have not heard about your Wait List status by Mon. Nov. 21st, contact us ASAP!

Confirmations will be sent via US mail ONLY if an exhibitor does not have an active email address or upon specific request.
A Preliminary Confirmation will be sent to the e-mail address on the AKC entry form
after your entry has been processed. Please review the information in the
confirmation for input errors and notify the Trial Secretary of any corrections.
Final confirmations of entry and judging schedule will be sent to the e-mail address on
the AKC form after the closing date.
NOTE: If the exhibitor has not received the Final confirmation within
five days of the trial, please contact the Trial Secretary.

Please consult AKC rules and regulations pertaining to Agility Trials for complete description and eligibility for
entry in these classes. The exhibitor is fully responsible for entering the dog in the correct class/division.
DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER
This trial is open to all dogs fifteen (15) months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel
Club or that have AKC Limited Registration, Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privileges
(PAL/ILP), an AKC Canine Partners listing number, or approved Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds are
eligible to participate.
Dogs with a Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privileges (PAL/ILP) or an AKC Canine Partners
listing number must be spayed or neutered in order to compete. Wherever the word “dog” is used in these
regulations it includes both sexes.
Dogs should be physically sound. Dogs that are blind shall not be eligible, and neither are bitches in season,
aggressive dogs, or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury, or illness which may affect the dog’s physical or
mental performance. No dog shall compete if it is taped or bandaged in any way or has anything attached to it
for medical purposes. Refer to Chapter 2 of the Registration and Discipline Rules for the listing of registerable
breeds that may participate.

** Depending on the entry #’s the Height order of EX/MAS JWW might be changed
to accommodate the smooth flowing of the trial and fewer ring conflicts. This will
be noted in the Final Confirmation letter.
NOTE: Start time of Rings will most likely be staggered. This will be determined after
the trial closes and will be noted in the Final Confirmation.
NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS
The safety of the dogs is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that
they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport, and that their dogs are familiar with and able to
perform all obstacles safely.
It is expressly understood that the exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or
children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in
unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Event Committee, be asked to leave the show site.
In such case, no refund of any entry fees will be made.

Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. No classes will be held up by a
late exhibitor.
Umbrellas are not allowed on the course during walkthroughs.
All dogs must be on leash at all times except when in the ring or when in the designated agility warm-up area.
No dogs may be left tied to trees, cars, fences, etc.
Dogs under 4 months of age are not allowed at this trial.
Flexi-Leads MUST be kept at the 2’ LOCKED position when used IN and NEAR the building.

FRI & SAT – All levels STD, JWW, T2B, Premier STD and Premier JWW, regular and preferred.
Sunday – All levels STD, JWW, Premier STD, and Premier JWW, regular and preferred.

Simplified Jump Height Card Process

If your dog needs to be measured, check the box at the top of the entry form so that your dog is placed on the
Measuring List. It is no longer required that you submit a copy of your dog’s jump height card with
your entry form or show it during day of show check-in.
It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to have their dog measured prior to running.
Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of any qualifying scores.
MOVE UPS
Move ups must be sent in writing with the information below (E-mail is acceptable and preferred)
to the Trial Secretary for the November 25th trial no later than Monday, November 21st at 6pm.
Day to Day move ups (Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday) must be submitted in
person to the trial secretary no later than 15 minutes after the last run is judged for each
class (STD and JWW).
REFUNDS
Bitches in season will not be admitted to the trial. Any exhibitor with an entered bitch
in season, on the trial date, will be refunded the entry fee, less $3 per run (each day), upon written
certification from a veterinarian. Notification must be in the hands of the trial secretary no later than
30 minutes before the start time on the date of the trial.
Injuries – Dogs that cannot compete prior to the set of trials due to an injury/illness will be
given a partial refund in the form of certificates, minus $7 per entered run.
A written vet letter (on office letterhead) must be given to the Trial Secretary no later than
Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016 at midnight.
Validation of the injury/illness must be made by a licensed veterinarian. Requests from
chiropractors, massage/physical therapists, etc will not be accepted. Injury/illness refunds will be
issued as certificates that can be used towards future CDCA agility trials.
VENDORS
Vendors are by Invitation Only. If you would like to be a vendor, please contact Annette Israel
at eastlandcanaans@gmail.com by November 8, 2016 with the following information:
Name, Address, Phone (including cell), Email address and description of
products and/or services and space requirements.
 If you have not received an invitation by November 8, 2016, it will indicate all vendor spaces
have been claimed and you may plan accordingly.
 Invited vendors must submit their vendor fees to arrive on or before the November 8, 2016, or
the space will be released to the next available vendor.
 No vendor activity is permitted without payment of vendor fee.
 Selling items or services from a vehicle or crating area by non-registered persons will not be
allowed.

PRIZES AND AWARDS
Rosettes and plush toys (valued at $1-$3) will be awarded to the 1st through 4th place teams in
each jump height in each class. Dogs must qualify to receive placement ribbons. Qualifying
ribbons will be awarded to all dogs receiving qualifying scores. New title ribbons will be given to
those dogs who earn new titles, and QQ ribbons will also be available for those dogs earning a
double Q in the Master classes. MACH and PACH ribbons and bars will be awarded to dogs that
earn these titles.
Special Awards
Highest Scoring Regular Dog with “Triple” Double Q’s
(Dogs must qualify in both Master STD and Master JWW on Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday) The award will be a $50 Clean Run gift certificate.
Highest Scoring Preferred Dog with “Triple” Double Q’s
(Dogs must qualify in both Master P STD and Master P JWW on Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday) The award will be a $50 Clean Run gift certificate.
Ties will be broken by calculating which dog ran the combined highest percentage under its
standard course time.
High Scoring Canaan Dog Award
A CDCA award will also be awarded to highest scoring Canaan Dog in Novice, Open, and
EX/MAS each day. A dog is eligible for the HS Canaan Dog Award in:
 Excellent if it is entered in EX/MAS for both Standard and Jumpers (entered in the Regular
classes, not Preferred),
 Open if it is entered in Open for both Standard and Jumpers (Regular classes, not Preferred)
 Novice if it is entered in Novice for both Standard and Jumpers (Regular classes, not
Preferred).
The award is given to the highest combined scoring, double Q-ing Canaan Dog in its respective
level. If there are two or more dogs with the highest score, any ties will be broken by calculating
which dog ran the combined highest percentage under its standard course time.

American Kennel Club website at http://www.akc.org/rules/.
TRIAL SITE
These trials will be held in a large indoor fan-cooled arena on dirt. There is plenty of room
for crating indoors, and lots of grassy area to walk dogs. A concession stand will be open
during trial hours, and there are a number of restaurants and fast food establishments
nearby. Clemson restaurants and lodging establishments are roughly 4 miles to the west;
Anderson restaurants and lodgings are roughly 8 miles to the east.
TRIAL SETUP
Wed Afternoon - Set Up Open to All Willing to help with event set up. Helpers
may come in, lay their tarps down to reserve that "prime" spot and then come help
with the ring/equipment set up. Vouchers will be provided for set up helpers.
Thursday – No Setup - Building closed and locked.
Friday - General set-up/crating will be available starting on Friday morning.
Canaan Dog Club of America
ROOM RESPONSIBILITY POLICY
The Canaan Dog Club of America, Inc. has adopted the following rules in order to insure that its
members and their dogs will be welcome at hotels/campgrounds in the future.
Any individual attending a CDCA sanctioned event and staying in a hotel, motel, inn or
campsite/fairgrounds has the responsibility of leaving that room or campsite exactly as found. This
includes picking up after dog(s) on the grounds. Anyone who damages a room or
campsite/fairground and does not report the damage to the hotel/campsite/fairground
management, and make immediate restitution or arrangements to do so within a period of time
agreed upon by the management, will be subject to any or all for the following actions by the
CDCA Board of Directors:
1. May be banned from showing at the next CDCA Sanctioned event(s).
2. May be subject to AKC sanctions.
3. Membership in the CDCA may be terminated and may not be allowed to be reinstated.

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free from
internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.
Damage shall be defined as:
1. Flea infestation, urine, defecation and/or any damage to hotel/campsite/fairground property
(wall, bedspreads, carpets, drapes, etc.).
2. Any verified complaint by the host hotel/campsite/fairground.
3. Any verified complaint by a CDCA Member.
CDCA Room Regulations
1) All dogs shall be crated and quiet when left alone in a room. Noisy dogs shall be quieted upon
request, even if this means the owner/handler must stay in the room with dog.
2) Individuals will be expected to immediately report any damage by dogs or themselves to the
hotel/campsite/fairground management, and to assume complete financial responsibility for
those damages.
3) No bathing or grooming will be allowed in rooms.
4) Dogs are to be allowed only on hotel furniture/beds ONLY if the furniture is covered with
protected covering provided by the owner/handler.
5) All owners/handlers will take preventive measures to assure that their dogs are free of fleas,
mites, intestinal parasites and other communicable diseases prior to their arriving at the
hotel/campsite.
6) Protective sheeting shall be placed under all crates in hotels. (Whenever possible, such
sheeting will be provided by the host group and will be given to the hotel to dispense at the time
of check-in.)
THE CANAAN DOG CLUB OF AMERICA INC.’S ROOM RESPONSIBILITY POLICY IS REQUIRED TO BE
PUBLISHED AS PART OF ANY OF THE CLUB’S AGILITY TRIAL PREMIUMS. BY SIGNING THE ENTRY
FORM, THE EXHIBITOR AGREES TO ABIDE BY THIS POLICY AND ALL OF ITS CONDITIONS.

Agility trials can’t be run without the help of volunteers. If you are available to help, please fill out this form
and return it with your entry. CDCA appreciates any help that you can provide our trial.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! The Chief Ring Steward will explain the job requirements prior to the
class. If you have any questions about volunteering, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator.
Vouchers will be provided to all workers that can be used for future entry or at the Concession stand.
An online worker sign-up link will also be available closer to the trial.

Due to the home football game of Clemson & Carolina, the hotels in the
immediate area are not offering any group rates. Easley, Piedmont & Greenville
have plenty of hotels with much better rates within a reasonable drive. Hotels at
Woodruff & Haywood Rd area will be in the Black Friday shopping areas.

 Reservations are required for RV Parking and Tent Camping. Space is not
guaranteed without reservations due to Clemson University events. The
facility has 15 RV spaces next to the building and an additional 30 RV spaces
available along the edge of the grounds.
 Advance reservations must be postmarked by November 8, 2016.
 Parking passes must be picked up at the check-in table and must be
prominently displayed in the window at the front of the vehicle at all times.
 RV & camping area includes picnic area under the trees with grills and tables
available.
 Camping (Tent or Barn) is a flat fee of $30 (reservations ARE required)
providing that the tent is NOT:
o in an RV space
o blocking a RV space
 Showers are available in Barn C.
 No RV Parking or camping set-up prior to 2pm Wednesday, Nov 23rd.

OFFICIAL ENTRY FORM FOR AGILITY TRIALS
AGREEMENT
I certify that I am the actual owner of the dog, or that I am the duly authorized agent of the actual owner whose name I have
entered. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I (we) agree to abide by the rules and regulations of The American Kennel
Club in effect at the time of this event, and any additional rules and regulations appearing in the premium list of this event and entry
form and any decision made in accord with them. I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for
cause which the club shall deem sufficient. I (we) certify and represent that the dog entered is not a hazard to persons or other
dogs. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged
and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors,
officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that
are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge,
judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to
any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we)
personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties
harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and
agree to indemnify, defend and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees)
by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including
death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage
to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this event, however such, injuries, death or property
damage may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by the
negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other person. I (we) agree that the
determination of whether the injury is serious shall be made by the event veterinarian and is binding on me (us).
I (WE) AGREE THAT ANY CAUSE OF ACTION, CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE
ENTRY, EXHIBITION OR ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENT BETWEEN THE AKC AND THE EVENT-GIVING CLUB
(UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED IN THIS PREMIUM LIST) AND MYSELF (OURSELVES) OR AS TO THE
CONSTRUCTION, INTERPRETATION AND EFFECT OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE SETTLED BY ARBITRATION
PURSUANT TO THE APPLICABLE RULES OF THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION. HOWEVER, PRIOR
TO ARBITRATION ALL APPLICABLE AKC BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES MUST FIRST BE
FOLLOWED AS SET FORTH IN THE AKC CHARTER AND BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS, PUBLISHED
POLICIES AND GUIDELINES.
INSTRUCTIONS
Handlers may opt to enter in a higher height division for all Regular titling classes, but not in a division lower than their
proper height division. Dogs entered in the Preferred classes must compete at the required jump height and may not
compete in a jump height division higher or lower than their proper height division.
All dogs that have not been officially measured for an Agility Jump Height Card may still compete; however, they must
be measured by a Judge of record, an Agility Field Representative, or a Volunteer Measuring Official, prior to running. If
measured by the Judge of record, that measurement will be valid for this trial or back-to-back trials only. If a measurement
is necessary, it is the exhibitor's responsibility to have their dog(s) measured prior to running.
