Reflections Brunch
On Sunday, July 10
we will celebrate our
Reflection Sunday at
the 9:30 AM service.
We will be honoring
all of our members
age 80 and over. Following the service there
will be a brunch hosted by the Ladies Evening
Guild. Everyone is invited.

Ladies Aid Picnic
The Ladies Aid will be
having their picnic on
Thursday, July 7 at noon in
the church basement.

New Bible Class
Starting this fall
there will be a new
bible class starting
regarding
Stressed-Less
Living, Finding
God’s Peace in
Your Chaotic World by Tracie Miles. Marge
Rumble will be teaching this class. She is
looking for ideas on which day or night of the
week you would be interested in attending this
class. It can be an afternoon or evening or a
weekend afternoon. After the class, she is
thinking about playing cards as a time to relax
and socialize. If you are interested, please call
Marge Rumble at 715-423-8612 with your ideas.

you can make money
for St. John while
cooling off all summer long purchasing scrip
such as Culvers, Dairy Queen, Hardees or
McDonalds. We have added Perkins to our list
for $25.00 at a10% profit. We have also
approached King Cone and are waiting for an
answer. Thank you for helping support our
Scrip program. Our profit total for June was
$208.11

(WFSI) is a thirtyminute
Christian
worship
experience
featuring classic hymns, the Apostles’ Creed,
the Lord’s Prayer, and a 10-minute message
by Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod pastors.
Beginning on June 28, 2015, RCCA will begin
airing WSFI on Solarus Cable Channel 3 and
Charter Cable Channel 985 on Sunday
mornings at 6:30 am and Wednesday
mornings at 8:00 am.
WSFI can also be seen on Stevens Point
Community TV (Charter Cable Channel 984)
at the following times: Mondays 12:30 pm,
Tuesdays 2:00 pm, Thursdays 2:30 pm,

Jesus challenges us to put Him first, though.

“Asking of God”

Jesus says that as we ask, seek and knock in
prayer, our heavenly Father will indeed give us
the Holy Spirit. Believers in Jesus have been
given the Holy Spirit in their Baptism, and as
God's children they continually ask for the Holy
Spirit. The Holy Spirit only comes to us through
the Word, and as He comes to us, He is really
the ultimate answer to the petitions of the Lord's
Prayer. The Holy Spirit continues to establish
us in Christ and in His salvation.
We are encouraged to bear one another’s
burdens and thus fulfill the law of Christ. Our
Savior fulfilled this law and perfectly carried
our misery, sin and death. Now we are
privileged and empowered by this Gospel to
bear one another’s burdens.

Our world encourages us to live for the moment
and enjoy the immediate pleasures of life. The
pathway is clearly marked by our passions. But
Christ has a different path that He has clearly
marked. It is marked with “the things that are
above.”
A lawyer’s request to define who’s his
neighbor launches Jesus into a story of need
(the beaten traveler) and deed (the good
Samaritan). Jesus is the “ultimate neighbor”
who receives and gives, calling us to be “good
Samaritan neighbors” in our world.
