The program is designed to assist active duty personnel during the assignment process by identifying Exceptional Family Members (EFM) having special physical, emotional, developmental, or intellectual needs. Assignment coordination ensures families are assigned to areas where access to necessary resources will be readily available. Components of EFMP The EFMP supports military families with special medical and educational needs. The program has three components: • EFMP-Assignment: Assignment Consideration/Coordination • EFMP-Family Support: Community Resource/Referral/Relocation Information • EFMP-Medical: Identification and Enrollment EFMP Family Support · Bldg. 6001 · 405-739-2747 Monday – Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Closed Holidays & AFMC Family Days) EFMP Medical · 72d MedGroup· Bldg. 1094 405-582-6025/6028/6023 EFMP Assignments · Military Personnel Section Bldg. 460 · 405-739-3616 Enrollment in EFMP is the key to readiness. Family members with special medical or educational needs, including a spouse, child or an adult dependent, should enroll in the program. This includes family members who require special medical services for a chronic condition, those family members receiving ongoing services from a medical specialist, having significant behavioral health concerns, and those receiving early intervention or special education services through an individualized education program or individualized family service plan. Enrollment in the EFMP ensures a family member’s documented medical and educational needs are considered during the assignment process. It also allows families to receive the support and assistance they need to navigate medical and educational systems. Navigating the System Locating and navigating formal programs, services, and informal supports when relocating can be difficult. EFMP Family Support can help bridge that gap, as well as help families understand available programs, determine program eligibility, and apply for benefits or entitlements. Navigating the world of resources, paperwork and requirements in the Exceptional Family Member Program can seem overwhelming, but Tinker’s EFMP team is determined to provide a clear, streamlined path for Airmen and their Exceptional Family Member. Tinker Resources Several resources are available to support families enrolled in EFMP. Please contact your EFMP-FS Coordinator for more information concerning the below listing and other available resources. • EFMP Support Groups • EFMP Respite Care: Free care for EFM children and siblings • Give Parents A Break Childcare • Tinker’s EFMP Resource Library • Sibshops • Summer Camps • Recreational Activities • Family Fun Events • Resource Fairs • Training Seminars/Educational Workshops • PCS Transition Assistance Airman & Family Readiness Center 6001 Arnold St. 405-739-2747 Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Education Services The Education Services Center is located in Bldg. 201SE, at the intersection of 1st Street and “C” Avenue.
