DYAMD TWO ARRIVAL (RNAV) CHANGE ALTITUDE RESTRICTION AT ARCHI TO READ: 8000. ALL OTHER DATA REMAINS AS PUBLISHED. 1510021330-1610012359EST • NOTAM amends “Bottom Altitude” at ARCHI to 8000’ – Charted Altitude: 7000’ • Amended altitude required to keep aircraft arriving on the DYAMD Two STAR contained within the KSFO Class B airspace 2 KSFO DYAMD Two RNAV STAR Change to the Bottom Altitude at ARCHI • Trial beginning December 14, 2015 & ending December 18, 2015 • Oakland Center (ZOA) will issue the “Descend Via” clearance with an ATC-assigned “Bottom Altitude” at ARCH of 8000’ using the phraseology: • • “[Aircraft/Flight ID], descend via the DYAMD Two arrival, except cross ARCHI at 8000” Pilots and flight crews must ensure that the altitude constraint programmed in the FMS at ARCHI is changed from 7000’ to 8000’ Pilots must use correct “Descend Via” phraseology on initial contact with NorCal TRACON 3 Descend Via – Operational Application ATC Assigns “Descend Via” With An ATC-Assigned “Bottom Altitude” ATC Clearance: “Falcon 900 Delta Alpha, Descend Via The DYAMD Two Arrival, Except Cross ARCHI at Eight Thousand” ATC Issued “Bottom Altitude” 8,000’ At ARCHI 230K Speed Restriction at ARCHI Remains In Force 4 Descend Via – Operational Application “Descend Via” With An ATC-Assigned Bottom Altitude The Pilot Should: • Track the lateral path of the DYAMD2 • Descend at pilot’s discretion to comply with published altitude restrictions until reaching the ATC-assigned “Bottom Altitude” of 8000’ at ARCHI • Comply with all published speed restrictions (e.g. 230KT at ARCHI) CEDES At 250KT Between 12000’ & 10000’ ALWYS DYAMD At or Above FL270 LAANE At 280 KT Between FL260 & FL220 ATC Issued “Bottom Altitude” 8,000’ At ARCHI FLOWZ At 280 KT Between FL190 & 14000’ z FRELY At 240KT At or Above 8000’ ARCHI At 230KT At 7000’ 5 Descend Via – Operational Application Pilot/Controller Initial Contact Phraseology “NorCal Approach, Falcon Nine Zero Zero Delta Alpha, Leaving Flight Level Two Four Zero For Eight Thousand, Descending Via The DYAMD Two Arrival, Information Bravo” “Falcon Nine Zero Zero Delta Alpha, NorCal Approach, Expect I-L-S Runway Two Eight Right Approach” 6 KSFO DYAMD Two RNAV STAR Change to the Bottom Altitude at ARCHI • Unless otherwise directed by ATC, pilots & flight crews remain responsible for compliance with the NOTAM changing the altitude restriction at ARCHI to 8000: !FDC 5/0051 SFO STAR SAN FRANCISCO INTL,SAN FRANCISCO, CA. ALL OTHER DATA REMAINS AS PUBLISHED. 1510021330-1610012359EST 7 KSFO DYAMD Two RNAV STAR Change to the Bottom Altitude at ARCHI • Trial will end on December 18, 2015, at which time NorCal will revert to relying on the NOTAM for pilot/flight crew compliance with the amended, 8000’ altitude restriction at ARCHI • Pending results of trial, NorCal may return to using “Descend Via, Except Cross ARCHI at 8000” clearance until such time as the procedure can be amended • Comply with the NOTAM to cross ARCHI at 8000’ unless otherwise directed by ATC Please submit questions concerning “Climb Via” or “Descend Via”, to climb-descend-via@nbaa.org 8
