Barry County Advertiser Herrin Animal Hospital recognized level of care Herrin Animal Hospital has again achieved accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). The Herrin Animal Hospital earned its accredited status after a rigorous review of the hospital’s practice protocols, medical equipment, facility, employee practices and client service. The AAHA is a world-wide organization that evaluates hospitals and promotes the highest level of care in veterinary medicine. Accredited practices are consistently at the forefront of advanced veterinary medicine as AAHA standards are continuously reviewed and updated to keep practices on the cutting edge of veterinary excellence. The evaluation process includes an onsite inspection as well as a review of over 900 standards that go far beyond the basic state requirements. Everything from pain management, communication, and staff safety to cleanliness, surgery and record keeping are evaluated. Only the top 15 percent of small animal practices in North America achieve AAHA accreditation. Herrin Animal Hospital has been accredited since 2001 and must undergo the evaluation process every three years. “We feel that the evaluation process helps us look closely at our protocols and practices so that we keep up with the ever changing needs of our profession. Quality veterinary care is very important to us and AAHA helps us keep that at the forefront of our practice,” said Dr. Brent Herrin, Herrin Animal Hospital owner and director. The Herrin Animal Hospital has served Barry County for the last 20 years and is located at 93 Smithson Drive, Cassville. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2016 1B ADVERTISING SUPPORTED Plymouth Junction offers history, deals Julie Pruitt Cheri Davidson is a hometown girl with a successful business in Monett. She was born and raised in Monett and graduated from Monett High School, so when she decided to open Plymouth Junction Antiques and Flea Market, Monett was the obvious choice. Visiting flea markets and collecting antiques started as a hobby for Davidson but soon became a business opportunity. Plymouth Junction Antiques and Flea Market carries a wide variety of items including the Southern Grace vintage clothing line, Rethunk Junk, a professional paint line, Red Dirt Tee Shirt Co. which specializes in custom order shirts and embroidery, homemade lye soaps, all natural F & G Soaps, and custom painted and restored furniture. Davidson chose the name Plymouth Junction because of its unique historical connection to Monett. Monett was established as a Frisco Railroad town in 1887 but was known as Plymouth, Plymouth Junction or Plymouth Crossing. This location was part of the Cherokee Indians’ Trail of Tears and became a vibrant Frisco terminal. The opening of the Texas division line caused a huge growth in 1887 to 1888 with millions of dollars spent building up the industry. Plymouth Junction’s name was changed to Monett after Henry Monett, a prominent official of the New York Central Railroad. Davidson felt this was a perfect name for her business tying history with antiques. Davidson’s business offers more than just antiques and other flea market items to provide an experience to match many tastes. Plymouth Junction Antiques and Flea Market offers hand carved mushrooms from local woods, which make interesting lawn ornaments, and custom made cedar furniture. Davidson will offer summer Jack of all Pools & SPas Jennifer Young 12th Grade A Honor Roll: Vanessa Cook and Rosillie Vang. 12th Grade A/B Honor Roll: Crystal Alvarado, Haley Beck, Jera Prewitt and Marley Sherwood. Davidson art classes to adults and kids as well as sponsoring the Repurposed Faire coming to town August 27 and 28. Stop by Plymouth Junction Antiques and Flea Market at 311 Broadway in Monett to visit Cheri and browse a vast array of items or rent a booth and pay no commission. She is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. and can be reached at (417) 3930511. 6th l n A nua Service Technician • CPO Certified From routine maintenance to specialized pool repairs and chemical testing, we have all of your seasonal pool care needs covered. Gardener group to meet at Cassville Library On Thursday, June 9, Sharon Nance, a member of the Master Gardeners of the Ozarks, will present a program on Lasagna Gardening. After seeing a presentation on the subject a few years ago, Sharon built her own lasagna garden and loves sharing her knowledge and experience with others. Lasagna gardens are built in layers as the name implies and are less work than the traditional garden because the gardener does not dig or till the ground before planting. Front Porch Conversations for Garden People begins at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month in the lower level of the Cassville Library with a presentation on a different garden topic each month. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Cassville Library and the Barry County Master Gardeners. It is a great opportunity to learn something new and to get your gardening questions answered. For more information, contact the library at (417) 847-2121. Cassville Primary announced their April Students of the Month.
