WELCOME
The origins of the Kuffler Group are the legendary Tangente and Parabel student bars which Roland Kuffler set up in all major university towns in
Germany with his brother-in-law, Dr. Erich Kaub, in the early 1960s. He later moved from Heidelberg to Munich with his wife, Doris Kuffler, from the
student scene to the classic dining side of the gastronomy sector. A butcher’s shop, the wine tent at the Oktoberfest, the München Palace boutique
hotel, Kuffler Catering and the interior design business, Kuffler Inn Design, were added over time.
The Kuffler Group is one of the largest privately owned gastronomy businesses in Germany today. The sons, Stephan and Sebastian Kuffler, have
been on the management team for a long time and are leading the company into the future.

KUFFLER
We run the KUFFLER restaurant in the Palais an der Oper, the former
Munich Residenzpost. A casual city restaurant, modern and stylish, but yet
with comfort. The stupendously beautiful loggia under the arches of the
listed Leo von Klenzes facade casts a glow across the Max-Joseph-Platz
and is a Munich hot spot.
The furniture and lamps were made by regional handcraft businesses
based on ideas from the Kuffler Inn Design interior designers. Colourful
stone tiles, old wooden flooring as well as pictures and photographs
of Munich artists complement each other together with the furniture to
create a wonderful ambience.
Besides Munich classics and must-haves, a clear Mediterranean cuisine
is served. Perfectly matured beef from the Kuffler butcher’s is grilled to
tender steak; fish and seafood are served with aroma butter, in the pasta
or as a fish pot, crispy delicacies perfect crunchy salads. The menu always
has a surprise in store with new dishes every month!

SPATENHAUS
AN DER OPER
The Spatenhaus an der Oper epitomizes Bavarian gastronomy in
its most cultivated form. In a beautiful location directly opposite the
Bayerische Staatsoper, great pains are taken to celebrate the finest of
Bavarian cuisine in the traditional Munich restaurant.
Lovers of the hustle and bustle of city life and of down to earth Munich
dishes will feel at home on the ground floor of the Spatenhaus. This is
where you can drop in for a Weisswurst (Bavarian veal sausage) breakfast or a light snack from as early as 9:30 a.m. until late at night after the
opera. The ambience is more tranquil and elegant upstairs: four different
rooms can accommodate 20 to 120 guests. A very popular setting for
family parties and business dinners.
Every typical Spatenhaus guest has their own favourite room. What they
all have in common is their appreciation for the premium locally grown
produce, meat and sausage from our own butcher’s and the literally
homemade specialities. From the liver dumpling to potato salad, from
stuffed breast of veal to cordon bleu not to mention the sinful desserts
– the chefs taking care of you in the Spatenhaus are highly skilled and
have great respect.

SEEHAUS
IM ENGLISCHEN GARTEN
We have a special gem with the Seehaus im Englischen Garten, in a
unique location on the Kleinhesseloher See. It is just a few minutes by
bicycle from the pulsating Schwabing district and the city centre and yet
far away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. The modern
restaurant and the Stüberl (little room) with its old wooden panelling are
lovely options for family or business dinners. The extremely versatile
Pavilion and the banquet room with its high, bright, wooden ceilings are
popular for parties and events of all kinds. The ensemble is surrounded by
the spacious sun terraces and a beer garden that is “en vogue” throughout
the year in Munich as soon as the sun comes out.
The restaurant specialises in Mediterranean fish cuisine and contemporarily interpreted classic dishes. The Pavilion invites you to “Breakfast on
the lake” or to coffee and cakes from our own confectioner. Homemade
noodles, venison dishes and specialities of the region are served in the
Bavarian Stüberl.

HAXNBAUER
IM SCHOLASTIKAHAUS
Our old-Munich city tavern, close to the Marienplatz, is part of a
historic building that was mentioned as early as the 14th century, the
Scholastikhaus. Today, the architectural jewel is a meeting place for
local Munich people and guests from all over the world.
The grandiose knuckle spit is without doubt the ultimate treat, where
finely seasoned knuckles of pork and veal shanks are slowly transformed into a crisp, unmatched delicacy over beechwood charcoal.
Straightforward meals and classics from the Bavarian cuisine are also
served.
The Kabinett and Separée can be booked exclusively. For larger
banquets, we recommend a whole steaming, suckling pig from the
spit – a real spectacle for the eyes and the taste buds.

Roland Kuffler and his partner, Joseph Peter, have been running the
wonderful Mangostin for over 25 years. A pure Asian interior converges
with a warm colonial style here. The “Red Child” photo installation by
the internationally renowned artist, Prof. Xiao Hui Wang, is an impressive
eye-catcher in the largest of the three restaurants, the Lemon Grass.
The Mangostin is characterised by top standards when it comes to
freshness, quality and above all the authenticity of the various far
eastern cuisines. Our own office in Bangkok is responsible for purchasing
the goods from Thailand every week. And not least the chef artists at the
wok and the sushi masters, all of whom were trained in Thailand and Japan,
guarantee a once in a lifetime culinary experience in the Mangostin.
Spacious wicker furniture and settees as well as cosy hammocks lend
the Mangostin Garden its special flair. Sophisticated delicacies are
prepared at the Palm Court Bar and in the garden kitchen with an open
bar-b-cue.

MANGOSTIN AIRPORT
IN TERMINAL 2
Roland and Stephan Kuffler run a branch of the far eastern gourmet
temple called the Mangostin Airport on the gallery above the departures
level in the public area of Terminal 2 at Munich Airport.
Authentic delicacies from the wok and from the noodle soup bar are on
the menu here too. The sushi master makes seafood pralines from the
very best of ingredients – also to take away as “sushi to fly“. A sumptuous Far East Buffet invites you to dine at lunchtime on Sundays with
all the variety of the sophisticated Asian cuisine.

The variety of dishes and abundant space facilitate holding banquets
and buffets for up to 250 people. It is easy to get some work done in the
sheltered pavilions. Business travellers appreciate the exotic flair as a
location for preparing and holding meetings.

BAGUTTA
PIZZA CULTURE
The Bagutta restaurant is located in the public area of Terminal 2 at
Munich Airport. Long rustic wooden tables for communicative groups
converge with sheltered lounge areas and niches equipped with power
points for those who want peace and quiet. A modern, inviting, “lifestyle”
ambience has developed here although the large, open kitchen receives
as much attention as the guest area.
Clear, simple Italian dishes are served. Crusty pizza, fresh pasta, crisp
salads, dolci and caffè characterise the menu, and the motto is always:
a few, good ingredients prepared with love.

KUFFLERS WEINZELT
A wine tent at the biggest beer festival in the world – no kidding, it really
exists. We have owned the wine tent since 1984 and think that it is one of
the most beautiful tents at the Munich Oktoberfest. With comfortable
corner benches made of old wood, selected wines and Paulaner draft
wheat beer, we create a very special atmosphere for an enjoyable visit to
the Oktoberfest. Three bands exude pure joie de vivre every day, and
charming, friendly service staff take care of the guests. People meet in the
great wine bower garden, on the balconies and not least at four bars for a
coffee, a glass of champagne or wine.
We are quite proud of the standard of our cuisine in the wine tent. A
specially chosen crew from our Munich restaurants cooks for the guests
in the wine tent and presents the various specialities from the individual
restaurants as well as the Oktoberfest classic dishes.

KUFFLER
INN DESIGN
The interior of all of the buildings in the Kuffler Group were drafted by the
quill of Inn Design to date. Further objects designed for external clients are
located in Peking, Budapest and all over Germany.
Doris and Roland Kuffler also demonstrate their personal passion, the art of
construction and fittings, with their own team of architects. They bring
stimuli from their trips to the “hot spots” around the globe and implement
them at Inn Design in their own way. As in the Kuffler Group restaurants, we
place great emphasis on unusual, top-quality materials and have furniture,
lighting and décor made by handcraft businesses based on our own
designs.

METZGEREI KUFFLER
BUTCHER’S SHOP
Using artisan working methods, our butchers create the cold cuts and
select the meat that is served in the Kuffler restaurants. The master
butcher receives awards for different scalded and fried sausages
regularly. The quality of the products processed and of the meat is top
priority. Large cuts of beef are placed in the maturing room until they
reach their optimum tenderness.
The shop is like a little box of jewels and has far more than the sausage,
cold cuts and meat specialities from our butcher’s on offer. You can also
buy spices and sauces, beautifully packed culinary gifts as well as
delicatessen items from Kuffler Catering here. There is a different
potpourri of hot dishes and fresh salads to take away or eat on the
premises at lunchtime.

KÖNIG ALBERT HAUS LEIPZIG
In the middle of the vibrant city centre of Leipzig, the centre of social, business and cultural life, the König Albert house is an address that you
simply cannot pass by. Constructed in 1913 according to plans by the
architect, Emil Franz Hänsel, it combines elements of the Art Deco, Jugendstil and classicistic styles. The Kuffler family bought the König Albert
house in 1998 and had it renovated extensively while complying with the
guidelines for historic monuments and paying great attention to detail.

Today, the magnificent business house stands in all its former splendour
and modern functionality. In addition to a large number of popular wellknown restaurants, bars and cafés on the picturesque Barfussgässchen
