Global Impact of Mexican cartels
- To understand Mexican drug trafficking organizations you must have an understanding of their
sub-culture.
- How DTO’s are expanding, setting up plazas in the U.S., using social media, and Narco
Corridos (drug ballads) as a form of communication and recruitment.
- The interrelationship of narcotic traffickers as it relates to the use of illegitimate saint, icons
and imagery in the possession of drug traffickers. Such as Santa Muerte , Jesus Malverde,
Santa Nina de Atocha and others. Explanations of candle and sympathetic magic, cleansing,
and other rituals in Mexican drug trafficking folk lure.
- The negative cultural impact it can have in our youth and our communities; and as a Law
Enforcement Officer, you’ll have a clearer understanding of what indicators to look for when
conducting your investigations with potential dangerous drug traffickers.
The Instructor, Matt Zucker, is assigned to a Special Investigations Unit and has invested ten
years of research into Mexican Drug Cartels. In 2009 he created a Mexican Drug Cartel class
for law enforcement and since has instructed over 15,000 law-enforcement personnel across
the United States and six Latin American countries. He spoke on the subject of Global Impact of
the Sinaloa Cartel, to 600 law-enforcement personnel representing 25 countries, at International
Crime Stoppers Conference in Cape Town, South Africa. He conducts daily interviews of
arrested Mexican drug traffickers to obtain information and actionable intelligence.
