Jelgava, the largest city of Zemgale, is a hospitable city,
which wants and knows how to receive visitors also in
winter. This is a season, when nature is in her resting
phase; therefore, we should also find time to relax as
well as to dedicate time to ourselves and to our loved
ones. The Regional Tourism Center of Jelgava invites
visitors to visit Jelgava and its surroundings, in order to
see the most beautiful places of this city, to visit the
wonderful Ice Sculpture Festival, to taste some unusual
treats, and to warm up with chocolate mint tea. In
Jelgava and its surroundings, you will get exactly what
is necessary, in order to experience positive emotions
and dismiss the winter blues.
The sightseeing platform of the Holy Trinity Church Tower of Jelgava offers a very impressive view to Jelgava
from a bird’s eye view - here visitors can see church towers, watch skaters on Pasta Island, look at the Jelgava
Palace from a different perspective, and see horses in the Lielupe floodplain meadows as fawn thistles on a
white snow background. Jelgava is particularly beautiful during winter sunrise and sunset. This adventure can
be combined with a visitation to the interactive exhibitions of the Tower, in order to find out what was located
in this place earlier and what events occurred in Jelgava within 750 years. Visitors will also enjoy an exquisite
meal at the Tower's restaurant, whose interior is decorated with three clocks.

On Pasta Island, between the Rivers Lielupe and Driksa, the public skating-rink of Jelgava is open for winter

and five - on Weekends. This season's novelty is skating sessions with hockey-sticks and the possibility to rent
the ice-rink to organizations or individuals. Visitors can skate either with their own skates or rent them on the
spot. Note that weather conditions can influence the skating-rink working hours - in case of heavy rainfall,
skating times may be changed or canceled. To check for all changes to skating times and session availability,

This season's novelty in Jelgava is a breakout game "Chamber", where a team must do its best, in order to get
out of a closed room, by using quick wit and logic. These kind of games are popular all over the world, also in
many parts of Latvia, but now it has been created right here in Jelgava as well. It is an interesting attraction for
friends, who want to try an unusual, mysterious challenge. The game begins with prisoners finding themselves
in a dark and strange place, where only a dim light sheds light on a wall. Slowly understanding what has
happened, the prisoners begin to realize the seriousness of the situation. They notice signs and understand
that they are not the first in this room to be trapped, and the prisoners start to find hope in themselves - it is
possible to escape. To escape from the chamber, the players must understand the predecessor's thinking and
left signs. Consequently, each is given the opportunity to test his/her skills and have fun with friends. An hourlong entertainment for 2-4 persons. Come and test yourself and your friends!

Shop “DABA”
The Ecoshop "DABA" is not afraid of winter. Here winter is a frequent visitor; it crawls in through the bottom of
the door to warm up itself just a little bit from its cold breath. It comes here because of a fragrant coffee and
aromatic countryside teas. When it wants something sweeter, it asks a hot chocolate drink or syrup with a
summer flavour. When the long winter evenings become too dark, it comes here to get tree lights, finds the
most magnificent candlesticks on our shelves, puts candles of different colors and aromas in them, rises the
legs in the air... and enjoys this cold, but romantic season.
Sometimes, after turning somersaults on a mountain or whirling through the cold streets of the city, winter is
pleasantly tired and knows that a proper bath with salt balls, foam mountains, and a healthy bath salt is the
only way to pamper itself. Come visit us and find the small joys of winter and something more!
P.S. It has been said that, in January and February, visitors will be able to taste different treats. Visit our social
