Ambrose Lake State Forest Campground (Rose City, Michigan) (989) 275-4622 Located on Ambrose Lake with boating and fishing access, this campground offers rustic lake front camping in addition to direct access to the state forest motorized trails. Baraga Plains ATV Trail (Watton, MI) (906) 353 -6558 This 27 mile loop is open to off-road motorcycles and to ATVs or UTVs less than 50 inches wide. Bass Lake Motorcycle Trail (Gwinn, MI) (906) 339 - 4461 Open to motorcycles only, this 26 mile singletrack loop winds through a mixed hardwood forest that consists of various pines, oak, tamarack, cedar, aspen and spruce trees with thick bushes and fern foliage. . Generally flat, sandy and whooped. Mix of gravel roads, wide 50" trail and two track. Generally wooded with lowland/shoreline forest types. Several loop options Permit Required? ATVs, motorcycles, cars, trucks and even RVs are allowed on the ferryboat that leaves the mainland every hour to make the 10-minute crossing.
