Dover Hosts NH Chamber Executives
The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce and the
Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce are proud to cohost the New Hampshire Association of Chamber of
Commerce Executives (NHACCE) in Dover for their annual spring gathering on
June 6 at the 7th Settlement Brewery and Pub.
NHACCE provides chamber of commerce executives with an organized
forum to foster and enhance personal and professional development by
sponsoring and conducting educational programs, conferences and events.
“Mike Schidlovsky and I are very proud to be co-hosting this important
group on the Seacoast. We both serve on the board and believe strongly in the
value of sharing best practices peer to peer,” said Molly Hodgson, Executive
Director of the Dover Chamber.
The day’s agenda will run from 10:30 am until 3 pm and will include
open networking, a keynote address by Glenn Klink, Executive Director of
Minuteman Health–New Hampshire and roundtable discussions on various
topics pertaining to chamber operations.
“In addition to providing our chamber professionals with the opportunity
to learn from each other, we are thrilled to have the chance to bring one of New
Hampshire’s newest members of the business community in to share their plans
for providing quality affordable healthcare to New Hampshire,” said Hodgson’s
co-host and Director of the Exeter Chamber, Mike Schidlovsky.
In line with its mission to provide training and education to chamber
professionals, the event is free to any NHACCE chamber member employee.

State of the City
On May 16, Dover City Manager Michael Joyal, Jr. moderated the Greater Dover
Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs’ State of the City. The forum, sponsored by
Public Service of New Hampshire, took place in the McConnell Center Café.
City Manager Joyal moderated discussion among Recreation Director Gary
Bannon, Police Captain Bill Breault, Economic Development Director Daniel Barufaldi,
Community Services Director Douglas W. Steele II and Interim Superintendent Antonio
Fernandes.
Topics discussed by the panelists included the new police station, improvements to
Henry Law Park, downtown traffic flow and road conditions. Joyal moderated a question
and answer segment where the public was invited to ask questions.
“Dover has seen tremendous growth over the last few years and there are still many
plans in the works that will continue the progress in the city,” commented Greater
Dover Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Molly Hodgson. “It was great to give
the public an opportunity to hear directly from some of those individuals who are so
instrumental in shaping the change.”

The Chamber’s Executive Director, Molly Hodgson,
served as one of five distinguished judges for the very first
‘10 to Watch Awards’ presented by Catapult and Seacoast
Online.com. A special ceremony was held on May 14th
honoring the young professionals.
The inaugural contest was judged by a panel of business
and community leaders who reviewed a total of 142 nominees
who are making positive contributions to the social and
economic development of our region. A full list of the

Kelly has been working for Federal
Savings Bank for over 16 years. She
started working as a part-time teller in
1997 while she was an undergraduate
student at UNH. After graduating with a BS in Business
Administration and marketing concentration, Kelly quickly
moved from teller to teller trainer and in 1999, retail loan
officer. Shortly after, she began managing the team of loan
officers and focused on getting to know the community by
being an active participant and volunteer for local nonprofits.
In 2004 Kelly assumed the role of Marketing Director.
She quickly created a marketing message and bank brand
that hinged on the purpose of a community bank—to
positively impact the community. In 2007, Kelly was
promoted to an Assistant Vice President in her marketing
role and again in 2009, as Vice President. She also became
the youngest member of the executive management team
the bank had ever seen.
Kelly has served as the Volunteer Committee Chair for
the Chamber’s Cochecho Arts Festival and Apple Harvest
Day. She is on the board of the Cochecho Valley Humane
Society and has served as an Ambassador, Presenter and
regular committee participant at the Dover Chamber of
Commerce. She was chosen as the 2007 Chamber Volunteer
of the Year. Kelly has served the United Way of the Greater
Seacoast as Volunteer, Committee Chair and as the United
Way Spirit of the Seacoast, Award Selection Committee
Member.

Mike Carlton, owner of Calling All
Cargo Moving and Storage is a USMC
veteran, husband, father of 1 year old twin
boys and loyal friend to many. It is no secret
Mike and his team at Calling All Cargo
Moving and Storage want to help. From his participation in the
Festival of Trees, to working with Hiring our Heroes, Mike is
intent on using his strengths and resources to help make our
community a better place.
In 2012 Mike was awarded with the Greater Dover
Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year award for efforts
donating moving services, time, and funds to organizations
such as: The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire, A Safe
Place, Celebrate Pink, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater
Seacoast, Apple Harvest Day and Dancing with the Dover
Stars.
Calling All Cargo donated trucks, equipment and
manpower for the setup and takedown of the Seacoast
Chamber Alliance’s Seacoast Business Expo. In November,
everyone at Calling All Cargo grew fancy mustaches to raise
funds and awareness for men’s health issues for Movember.com.
Mike’s good karma, compassion, and commitment to
excellence are the foundation of his business and his life.

Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce
Mike is an active member of the
Seacoast community. Currently he serves
as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for
Zebra Crossings, a Dover-based non-profit
organization committed to providing enrichment programs for
children with chronic health conditions. He also is a member of
the University of New Hampshire Recreation Management &
Policy Advisory Board, where he provides analysis and advice
on the Department’s current and future curriculum decisions.
Mike has acted as intern supervisor and mentor for over a
dozen UNH students while he works as the Community Events
Manager at the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce.
For the past three years Mike has worked as the
Community Events Manager at the Greater Dover Chamber of
Commerce where he oversees Seacoast favorites such as Apple
Harvest Day, the Cochecho Arts Festival, and Festival of Trees.
Most recently, he was pivotal in the creation and 2014 launch
of the Dover Race Series. In January, Mike started to teach at
UNH as an adjunct professor in the University’s Recreation
Management & Policy Department.

The Chamber is once
again offering Walking
Tours of Historic Dover on
Saturday morning at 10:30
a.m. The tours, which
started on Memorial Day
weekend, will run through
mid-September. Beginning
at the Chamber, the tours
are a leisurely stroll
through Dover’s historic
downtown area, offering
numerous stops along the way during which guides will
point out places of interest, offer historical perspective,
and share stories and anecdotes about the people, places
and events that have helped shape Dover. Tours are $8.00
per person and $5.00 per person for groups/families
of four or more. Comfortable shoes, water bottles and

Farmer’s Markets kick off June 4th!
The Chamber will once again be the place to be on
Wednesday afternoon this summer. The Seacoast Growers
Association (SGA) will be calling the Chamber parking
lot, as well as a small portion of Sixth Street, home for the
fifth straight year. The SGA Dover Market will take place
on Wednesdays from 2:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., starting June 4
and running through mid-October.
Make sure to stop by the market weekly for locally
produced products from fruits and veggies to maple syrup
and craft beer, you never know what you will find at the

by theatre.unmasked, an expanded Art Rocks program in
cooperation with EarCraft Music and a new day and time for
the Shark in the Park Classic Rock Series presented by The
Shark 105.3FM (Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m.) and Holy Rosary
Credit Union Farmers’ Market Stage. The 2014 Cochecho
Arts Festival will run from July 9 through August 22. All
