The Marketing Miracle
Marketing strategies are very important to every business, large and
small. I’ve seen a lot of businesses in my time take almost a cavalier
attitude toward marketing. As if they say to themselves “Ok, I have
to advertise. Here is some money let me know how it goes.” I assure
you there is or should be more to it than that. People today are always
looking for the quick fix, the instant gratification. I see it all to often as I
am sure you have. The post in the blah blah forums asking “What is the
best way to advertise”. I do have the answer. Are you ready. The answer
is........It depends. It depends on who your market is. What age group are
you targeting? What demographic are you stalking? If you can answer
these questions you are on the right track for success. The answer is not
a simple one. Most often the answer is a medley of different answers
and quite often one that nobody hasn’t thought of yet.
When advertising, never do it out of emotion. When starting an
advertising campaign make sure it can be tracked. Weather you pay for
it or not, if you can’t track it, your wasting your time and or money. Lets
say you want to start an opt-in e-mail campaign. You send out 300,000
e-mails. You get 3000 responses(by the way, that is extremely good).
Where did the they come from. Why didn’t they or did they buy? If you
can learn something from it that makes the next campaign better it is not
a failure. By constantly analyzing and readjusting your campaigns, you
can zero in on the most effective form of advertising possible for your
specific business. In the words of Colin Powell, “There are no secrets
to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from
failure.”
Most hosting companies today offer web site analysis software. Use it!
I can not stress this enough. Its amazing to me how many webmasters
don’t know what there highest traffic days are. How many unique
visitors are you getting? What is the most popular page on your web
site? What is the least? What time of day does the bulk of your visitors
show? There is so much useful information that can be harvested from
these programs. I had a friend of mine come to me and asked for my
help. He was getting a lot of visitors to his site but they were leaving
and not buying. He did know that but he should have dug deeper. After
reviewing his site statistic reports I noticed that a lot of shopping carts
were being abandoned. This isn’t really all that uncommon accept for
the fact that 90% were being abandoned at a specific point in the check
out process. I ran through the check out process myself and discovered
that selecting payment page was very confusing. I let him know about
it. After fixing the issue his sales went up 150%. That’s huge! How
much would you pay to increase your business 150%? This is one of
many examples of the potential benefits of knowing the visitor flow and
behavior of your site.
Don’t let your ego get in the way. Don’t get dragged into an advertising
war with a competitor. Its human nature to be competitive and that isn’t
necessarily a bad thing but it can turn into a disaster if it gets the best
of you. Just take a look at Google Adwords. I’ve seen certain search
terms as high as $3000.00. I’ve seen businesses fold partly due to there
advertising budget that had gotten out of control.
Always have a plan. Always know were you are going, were you are
now, and were you have been. If you follow these simple guidelines,
success is just a matter of time.

This ancient technique has been used for thousands of
years to gain control of the mind and achieve razorsharp focus.

Our greatest weakness is in how we breathe. The
deeper you breathe, the stronger your ability becomes
to maintain focus. One technique that has been used
to stop the mind is to literally stop the breath. Hold
your breath for as long as you comfortably can. Don’t
try to overdo it, just hold it for a few seconds at a time
at first. While holding your breath, you will notice
that the thoughts in your mind are put on hold as well.
You can force some thoughts through the barrier, but
its amazing to realize how this technique works instantly.
Close your eyes and see a flaming candle. It doesnt
matter what it looks like or how it burns, just see it.
Slowly take three deep breaths while keeping your
eyes closed and your mind on the candle. Just watch it
gently burn. After the third breath, inhale deeply, feel
the air go straight down into your abdomen and hold
it. Hold your breath for as long as you comfortably
can while maintaining focus on the flaming candle.
You’ll immediately notice the background thoughts
dissapear and you gain a stronger clarity of the experience.

Ancient Indian Matrimonial Astrology
Significance of kundli charts
and consequence of being manglik
By: pritpal
Kundli is an Indian (vedic) astrological chart. It plots
the positions of 9 planets across a number of houses
(representing the solar system) in a graphical representation.
The position of the planets is based on the exact time of
one’s birth.
It is widely believed, and accepted, in Indian culture that
from these astrological charts the characteristics and traits
of a person can be identified and their fate predicted. For
more details www.be-a-stargazer.com For this reason
kundli charts are well used to determine whether a couple
will be suitable in marriage - a process labelled ‘kundli
matching’. Before a marriage proposal is made kundli
matching is performed to identify whether the marriage
will be a good fit.
Significance of kundli charts and consequence of being
manglik
From the charts a number of factors can be identified such
as wealth, education, successfulness, and even children.
However it can also be used to find out negative traits.
The most infamous trait is the Manglik Dosha. This
condition occurs as a result of the planet Mars falling in
either the 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th houses on the Kundli
chart. Being based on Mars, the planet of fire and heat, it
is said that manglik people can cause a lot of tension, rage,
argument, and violence by nature. A marriage between
manglik and non-manglik is said to be destined for hard
times and ultimately the possible death of the spouse.
A celebrity example of kundli matching and belief is the
marriage of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan. It was
determined that Aishwarya was manglik and for this reason
their kundli charts did not fit well. However to satisfy
both their love and the jyoshi’s (astrologers) a marriage
ceremony was performed between Aishwarya and a tree. It
was said that the tree would absorb Aishwarya’s manglik
fire, a sacrifice if you will.
Can manglik marry non-manglik?
Yes of course! This can be done by manglik wearing coral,
for example, that absorbs aggression from the manglik.
For more details www.fire-itup.com Indian rituals and
ceremonies can be performed to bless couple and reduce
effects of manglik dosha (for example, Aishwarya &
Abhishek). And in other cases other kundli charts can
neutralise the effects of manglik so it works OK.
Kundli matching: interpretation
BE AWARE: a kundli chart should be accurate and
consistent from all sources as long as the exact time and
place of birth is identified, minor variances can have a big
impact on what the kundli says! A number of free Kundli
charts services are now offered online for the curious.
The challenge of Kundli matching is of course interpretation
- the reading of the chart to come up with predictions
about the person and compatibility of them in marriage
with others. In general jyoshi’s (vedic astrologers) can
be used to provide an accurate interpretation, though it is
sometimes very problematic that different ones can tell you
quite different things! Online matrimonial sites are now
providing free kundli charts and even perform automated
kundli matching and match-making!
These features and advances just highlight the strong
beliefs and trust placed on kundli and vedic astrology in
Indian culture!

Do’s and Don’ts of Personal Finance
Surprisingly, some of the fundamental dos and don’ts in personal
finance are absolutely never new. Those were the principles your
grand fathers and great grand fathers were practicing in their ages.
The only difference was there was not so much of consumerism
those days; there were not so many of truly-unnecessary-but-highlyensnaring products and gadgets in the market and the curse of the
credit card culture was non-existent.
In this article, I am going to cover only those age-old fundamentals
of sound personal finance practices which may sound bland and
boring to the present day culture of instant gratification through unowned money. But only experience will tell you that olden wisdom
is always aimed at giving long lasting peace than enjoying shortspanned thrills in life.
Live within your means
It simply means: let your regular expenses be well within your
regular income. It amounts to saying that let your desires, needs
and ambitions be restricted in proportion to your income; let your
lifestyle be in tune with your current earnings and not in comparison
with your neighbor, colleague or a peer.
Save a percentage of your income
There is a saying: Let your first expenditure be a saving. While
we go about happily with undisciplined spending, we normally
find it difficult to do disciplined saving. Saving should become a
commitment. The culture of saving should be nurtured in our blood
stream.
How much to save? A general guideline is 10% of your income, at
the least; The more, the better.
Never enjoy luxury on borrowed money
The toughest rule is never to borrow money, which perhaps might
not have been practical for the vast majority even in those days. The
relaxed rule is to borrow money only for buying long term assets
(like a house).
A further relaxed rule is to borrow money for capital intensive
luxuries (like buying a car). But the age old wisdom restricts
borrowing to cover only that much of money which you can’t pump
in from your savings. The idea is that your debts should be minimal
and well within your capacity to repay without much of ado. It goes
without saying that the choice and model of the vehicle you buy
on loans should be what you can afford repay comfortably and not
what is prestigious to own.
Invest on assets that appreciate faster or that
have higher security value
An investment on a piece of land has more scope of appreciation and
has higher security value than company shares. Investment in gold
may not have faster appreciation but has a sound security value.
Extending this principle to today’s context, your great grand father
would not approve of investing money in an apartment; he would
rather prefer to buy an independent house on a plot of land, even if it
is quite farther away in a suburb with much reduced plinth area.
Distribute investments more in low-risk lowreturn avenues and less on high-risk, high-return
avenues
The olden wisdom was always more in favor of security, stability
and less on speculation and risk. Long term, slow growth was given
a lot more weightage over short-term high growth.
Where income is limited, do not own what you
can hire
Be it a house, a car - unless you can safely repay the money you
borrow without cutting too much of corners on the luxuries that you
are comfortably enjoying today within your current means, it is not
advisable to go for ownership.
Write your personal accounts; avoid unplanned,
impulsive purchases
Every house-holder is supposed to write their daily expenditure
accounts; Budgeting is a mandatory discipline. Impulsive and
unplanned purchases are to be meticulously avoided.
We can definitely “borrow” such a few good things from the past
generation about managing our personal finance. Olden values were
built on one watchword - integrity. Your honesty and integrity get
subjected to maximum trials and tribulations if you borrow beyond
your means. Becoming bankrupt was tantamount to walking naked
on the street in olden days. If only we can follow a few of these
guidelines, we can be free from the burden of debts and can ever be
indebted to our fore fathers.

Customer Service “Are you serious?”
I happened to visit a few retail outlets over the last couple of
weeks. I am shocked to see customer service at some of the
outlets. Many people believe customer service can be copied, I
do agree it can be copied but how many people actually do it?
The answer is “not many”.
I visited this telephone service provider which is one of the
largest service providers in our city, I did not get a Hello, a
thank you, or even a smile. This same company spends 100’s
of thousands of dollars on television advertising. Rick Segel
believes independent retailers can beat big chains any day.
You can have great marketing, great “I don’t care what?”, If
you don’t have good service - You are no game. This is just
one of the stores that I visited, the rest were so bad that it’s
depressing even to write about them. Bad body language, lack
of interest, lack of enthusiasm were some of the other factors
that contributed to bad service.
The reason why most companies (even a lot of big companies)
don’t have great service is because customer service is a lot
of hard work. You as the owner, the entrepreneur should be
the champion and brand ambassador of customer service. You
should be the champion of the values of the organization. You
should not only say it, you should mean it. Most companies
say it but they don’t mean it. They spend millions of dollars on
advertising but what’s the use if you don’t do the basics right.
Customer service is the basics. Make sure you do the basics
right. Remember your customers are your most effective,
cheapest and most credible source of advertising.

The Modern Prophet : Vivekananda
Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863 in Calcutta.
He was called Narendranath in his childhood. His father Shri
Vishwanath Dutta was a well known attorney in Calcutta High
Court. His mother, Bhuvaneshwari Devi was a traditional lady
of religious temperament. She spent most of her time in praying
and worshiping lord Shiva.
Narendranath had an incisive mind and was quite playful since
his childhood. He used to play pranks not only with his peers but
never missed such an opportunity even with his teachers.
There used to be regular prayers at Narendra’s home.
Bhuvaneshwari Devi, being a lady of religious temperament,
was quite interested in listening to the stories from Puranas,
Mahabharat and Ramayan. Religious story tellers used to visit
the house hold regularly. Religious discourses and devotional
songs were also conducted regularly. Due to the
prevailing religious and spiritual atmosphere in
the household, religious and spiritual influence
took deeper roots in Narendra, the child.
Due to the parental influence and the religious
atmosphere Narendra showed a keen interest in
knowing and realizing God since his childhood.
This extreme curiosity at times led him to ask
such questions about God that even his parents
and the learned pundits were left speechless.
The parents had brought up their prodigious
child with extreme love and affection. They
made arrangements for teaching of Narendra at
home itself, by the time he was five years old.
Narendra paid full attention to the teachings of his tutors.
Besides education, Narendra took an active interest in the religious
functions held at his home and in his neighbourhood where he
sang devotional songs or sat with complete concentration.
His haveli(mansion) had a garden. One day the child Narendra
along with his friends sat there meditating, when a black cobra
slithered and reached near the plate used for worship. When
children opened their eyes on hearing the ruffling sound made
by the snake, they found the black cobra stretching itself besides
the statue of lord Shiva had spread its hood. The children got
scared and ran away shouting, ‘ snake! Snake!’.
When children told Bhuvaneshwari Devi about the snake, she
rushed to the spot where the hooded cobra stood near Narendra
sitting deep in meditation. This gruesome spectacle sent chill
down her spine. She about to shout, but controlling herself, she
folded her hands and prayed to lord Shiva for the safety of her
child.
At that instant, the snake folded its hood and slithered away.
Afterwards, she told Narendra about the snake, but he remained
absolutely fearless despite hearing about the chilling incident.
This extra-ordinary child of five who could think and behave
like grown-ups, who analysed every information he received
used to make his own well thought conclusions about the events
taking place around his surroundings.
Once a client of Vishwanathji, known as Khan Sahab had come
to the haveli in connection with some case.
Vishwanathji had gone somewhere that time, so Khan Sahab
waited for him. Khan Sahab used to come there frequently.
Narendra was also quite familiar with him. Khan Sahab was
quite impressed with the child like activities of little Narendra
and on entering the haveli, he would start playing with the little
child Narendra.
On finding Khan Sahab sitting alone in the drawing room, little
Narendra came running to him and started playing with him.
There he saw a bag lying in front. He asked Khan Sahab, “Khan
uncle, what is there in this bag?” Khan Sahab replied, “There
are delicious sweets in it”. Narendra loved
sweets. On hearing about sweets his eyes
sparkled. Narendra said innocently, “Khan
uncle, I like sweets very much”.
Narendra’s request put Khan Sahab in a
dilemma. He wanted to offer sweets to
Narendra but he didn’t have courage to.
Actually Narendra’s mother Bhuvaneshwari
Devi was so blindly dedicated to Hindu
religion that she could neither herself nor let
her children accept any edible stuff out of
a Mussalman’s hands. She considered such
an act against the dictum of her religion.
Khan Sahab was aware with that, therefore
he didn’t have the courage to offer sweets
to Narendra. But the child reflected love, innocence and fellow
feeling in his request. Khan Sahab forgot everything when he
saw the cherubic face of the young child and he offered a piece
of sweetmeat to the child.
On getting the piece of sweet, Narendra happily ran to the
mother. He told the mother that Khan uncle had given him the
sweet. As he was about to eat the sweet, his mother held his hand
and slapped him in anger. He felt bitter at the behaviour of his
mother. He didn’t know the reason, but felt puzzled over why
his mother had slapped him on taking sweet from Khan uncle.
Even as his tender mind puzzled over the issue, he remembered
that once his mother had scolded him on touching the lady who
used to clean his toilet. Child Narendra now used to remain more
curious to know these things.
Once a katha of Hanumanjee was organised in the haveli of
Vishwanathji. Child Narendra was also intently listening to the
story of Hanumanji. While telling the story the panditji said that
Hanumanji had won over death due to the powers of celibacy
or brahmacharya. He is living and even today lives in a banana
orchard.
Child Narendra grew extremely curious to see Hanumanji on
hearing the fact of immortality about him. He was instantly
reminded of the banana orchard in his haveli. He left without

informing anybody and sat under a banana plant waiting for
Hanumanji to arrive. He was fully confident that Hanumanji
was somewhere around and will definitely meet him. Child
Narendra kept sitting there for hours waiting for Hanumanji to
arrive, but when he didn’t arrive he felt extremely disappointed.
On reaching home, he wept profusely before the statues of Ram
and Sita.
Next day when his charioteer was taking him around in the
horse cart, he asked him, “ Charioteer uncle, where will one find
Hanumanji?” The charioteer
was completely baffled by the
question. He didn’t know what
reply to give to that question.
When child Narendra repeated
his question, the charioteer
replied, “ it is very difficult to
have a darshan of Hanumanji.
For that one has to remain a
lifelong bachelor and take the
vow of celibacy.” On listening
to his reply, Narendra said, “ All right. I will also not marry and
remain a celibate for ever.”
As soon as child Narendra reached home, he told his mother, “
mother, I will not marry. I will follow the rules of abstinence all
my life”. Bhuvaneshwari Devi was filled with joy on hearing his
words. She instantly embraced her little son.
After completing the primary education, Narendra was admitted
in the Metropolitan Institute at Calcutta. His friend circle also
started increasing. He took interest in his studies in school.
After the school hours, he used to play, learn music, ride horse,
meditate and help others in their work. He never liked sitting at
a place, nor did he like to rest.
During the course of his studies, when Narendra was about 14,
he fell ill. Those days, his father Vishwanathji was in the Raipur
town of Madhya Pradesh. He called back Narendra to be with
him on hearing of his illness.
a keen interest to know the entire mysteries of human life. This
quest went on increasing with time. Such an interest led to an
extreme devotion towards reading and meditating. It would be
difficult for anybody to break his concentration once he absorbed
himself in studies or meditation. During his college days itself
he had mastered the philosophical works of several western
scholars.
Narendranath had a melodious voice. Whenever any intellectual
or religious discourses or religious speeches etc used to be
organized in the city, Narendra would be always present there.
Audience attending the function enjoyed the songs sung by
him.
Once Surendranath Mishra, the neighbor of Narendranath
organized such a function at his place. The saint of Dakshineshwar,
Sri Ramkrishna Dev was invited there to present his discourse.
The program began with the song of Narendra. He sang in such a
melodious voice that Sri Ramkrishna Dev along with the others
present there became completely absorbed and began dancing to
the tune of the song.
When the song was over, Ramkrishna Dev gestured Narendra
to come near him. Narendra came and bowed in his feet with
reverence. Ramkrishna Dev put his right hand over his head to
bless him.
Narendra instantly felt a divine current surging through him. He
was highly impressed with the spiritual aura of Ramkrishna Dev
and felt thrilled. Swamiji smiled and said, “ All right, you can
go now and meet me at Dakshineshwar, there we shall talk heart
to heart.
After this incident Narendra developed a strange attraction

The surrounding hillocks and the dense forest around Raipur
proved helpful in awakening his inner sensibilities. He felt a
strange energy surging within on trekking across the hillocks
and observing the virgin beauty of the lonely valleys.
Narendra spent two years in the free atmosphere of Raipur.
Meanwhile he recovered completely and appeared handsome
and healthy.
After spending two years in Raipur, Narendra came back to
Calcutta. He had lost two years of school education due to the
illness. On reaching Calcutta, he took re-admission and began
studying seriously. Narendra successfully completed his school
education due to his hard work and sincerity.
After completing school education, Narendra took admission
in Presidency College, Calcutta at the age of 18. However,
sometimes later his health deteriorated, as a result he could not
continue his studies at the Presidency College. He lost one year
as a result of his ill health. On recovering a year later, he took
admission in the General Assembly College. Narendra was quite
interested in Philosophy. Since his childhood he had developed

name to Narendranath—Swami Vivekanandaa. Thereafter, the
guru transferred all his powers to the new sanyasi and disciple
so that he may highlight India’s prestige through his deeds of
global welfare.
During the summer holidays, he made up his mind to go to
Dakshineshwar, when his father put forward the proposal of
his marriage. He refused to marry in no uncertain terms. Infact
he was born to alleviate the social and religious evils like caste
system, child marriage, superstition, ignorance and religious
orthodoxy as well as to reform them.
He taught Swami Vivekananda – the aim of sanyas is to freely do
the public service. One who always thinks of his own liberation
is selfish. Today millions of people are in the grip of misery, the
real duty of a sanyasi is to liberate these suffering millions. If
you want to realize God, you must serve human beings as the
representatives of God.
One day Narendra along with some of his friends reached
Dakshineshwar in a state of mental apprehension. Ramkrishna
Dev felt extremely joyful on finding him there. Taking him to
a secluded place, he told Narendra in privacy, “You are not an
ordinary soul, Narendra. You are a great soul. I know who you
are. I had recognized you that day itself.”
In the August month of the year 1886, Sri Ramkrishna Dev
merged in absolute. In other words, he no longer existed in his
physical form. Thereafter Swami Vivekananda began to live in
the math of Barahnagar. There he extensively studied a number
of religious texts and philosophy.
Narendra came back to his home after meeting swamiji. On
reaching home he gave a serious thought. Finally, he decided
that one-day, he would put all his conflicting thoughts before
swamiji. If he clears my doubts and is able to make me realize
the ultimate truth, I would accept him as my guru and sacrifice
everything at his holy feet.
The Brahmo Samaj was already established those days.
Narendra was especially
influenced
by
its
social reform agenda.
Therefore, he would at
times participate in the
meetings of the Brahmo
Samaj.
Narendra met several
religious gurus in order
to satisfy his inner
conflicts, but none of them could come close to his expectations.
Finally he went to Ramkrishna Dev once again and asked, “
Maharaj, have you seen God?’’ Swamiji replied innocently, “ Yes
son! I have seen God directly and if you want, you can also see
the God similarly: but there is a condition, come to me leaving
back everything else and do whatever I tell you to do.”
Narendra was thrilled to realize that he could actually be face to
face with God. Thereafter, slowly and gradually he began to be
quite devoted to Shri Ramkrishna Dev.
One evening, Sri Ramkrishna Dev was looking at Narendra
intensively. Suddenly he got up from his place, came near
Narendra and put his right foot over the shoulder of Narendra.
Instantly Narendra realized all his doubts had vanished. He felt
everything getting dissolved in the infinity, and that he was left
alone. And then Swamiji put his right hand over the chest of
Narendra as a result everything now appeared normal.
After this experience Narendra accepted Ramkrishna Dev as his
guru. His life took a new turn even as Narendra began to flow in
the currents of spiritualism. Sri Ramkrishna Dev was also getting
lost in the love for his disciple. Thereafter, one day he imparted
diksha to Narendra. He now became a sanyasi or renunciate.
After the adoption of sanyas, Sri Ramkrishna Dev gave a new
Swami Vivekananda was the chosen leader under whose
guidance the other disciples of Sri Ramkrishna Dev started
working from Barahnagar math. Swami Vivekananda was
the life around which the lives of the other disciples centered.
The activities at the math included bhajan, kirtan, reading and
listening to of religious texts, meditation and chanting of hymns.
His orders were considered the orders of Guru. At the age of 27
Swami Vivekananda went on a pilgrimage to the various holy
places in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. During his visit, he met a
number of scholars, philosophers and religious teachers. He met
a number of saints and great souls. He placed just one question
before them all --- how the common people of India were to get
the deliverance from poverty and hunger? Many people joined
him influenced by his commitment to the nation as well as his
spiritual power. Slowly and gradually, more and more people
began to appreciate him.
Swami Vivekananda visited Kashi, Prayag, Mathura, Vrindavan
etc. during his holy pilgrimage. In the course of his journey he
felt that people are not less dedicated towards but due to the
prevailing social circumstances, the natural momentum seemed
to be lacking in them.
On September 11, 1893 a Parliament of Religion was organized
at Chicago in America. The representatives of different religions
from the different parts of the world participated in it. Several
participants from India had also come to attend the conference.
Swami Vivekananda had also come to attend the Chicago
conference thanks to some of his enthusiastic followers. Swami
Vivekananda was patiently waiting for his turn. When his name
was called he reached the front of dais. Ochre robe, head held
high, keen sight, a body radiating vigor—the audience was
surprised to see this strange dressed, youngest speaker. Few
moments later, when Swami Vivekananda began speaking on
the ancient religion of Hinduism the audience marveled at his
logic and thoughts on religion. Introducing the original religion
of India, he said, “ the religion I represent, is the ancient Hindu
religion. The welfare of the entire mankind lies at its root. The
ancient Hindu religion is so extensive that all the religions of the
world may find place in them.”

How To Become An Excellent Event Planner
There are many tips that you can use to become an event planner
and become one of the best, however, you need to know that to
become an excellent event planner you need to pay attention to
the fine details and offer the best to your clients. This can take a
lot of time from your day-to-day activities. To become an event
planner you need to put forth a lot of energy and time.
The first tip and the most important one is that you need to get
in contact with some of the best supplies.
You need to have a business contract and connection with
many suppliers so that you can offer the best to your clients.
Remember when you have the best suppliers; your reputation
will be excellent.
Also, always give your clients options.
Have a least a dozen venders that you work with on a regular
basis so that your clients can choose from a few options. When
you give your clients options they will feel more evolved in the
planning process.
You need to think about what kind of events that you will
plan.
They can be small dinners to huge weddings so you need to
come up with creative ways to bring life to a party. There are
going to be a lot of signatures styles, but if you continuously
research then you can keep up on trends and event activities.
When you are doing a wedding that is multicultural, you need
to learn about both of the cultures that they want present in
the wedding.
This will give you a better understanding of the traditions that
they want to honor.
You also need to think about your location of business.
Is your office somewhere respectable or in the ghetto? You need
to make sure that your clients are going to feel comfortable in
your office. This way you can have more cliental.
As an event planner you need to learn how to communicate
effectively.
You need to know what is acceptable and what is not by
reviewing all your details with the clients. The party isn't about
you, but the clients. You need to keep that in mind. Even if you
think sometime is wrongfully place, listen to your clients needs
and wants.
Another way for you to enhance your reputation is to keep ties
with the clients who were very pleased with your performance.
Use them as references, but always ask before giving out any
information. This way you can give future clients and idea of
your quality.
You may also want to ask your clients if you can take general
pictures of the event so that future clients will be able to see
what exactly you are capable of doing.
This is will make a lot of people hire you on the spot.
Talk to the client and set a budget before contacting any of
your suppliers.
This way you can communicate effectively with your suppliers
and clients. You can offer the best possible solutions and ideas
within a budget. If you can pull off an extraordinary event
within a budget, then you will be recommended to everyone.
There are only two things that matter and that is the design and
cost of an event.
Finally, you need to have a personality that allows you to
interact with others and really hear what others want.
You need to have the strength to handle everything with a
collective attitude, as well as, make the planning process fun
for your clients. Your personality and the way you handle
things makes a huge difference in being a successful event
coordinator or an okay planner.

Reading As a Hobby
Reading is a habit which helps a lot in life. This practice of
reading has taken a back seat with the development of televisions
and the internet. Children in the present times are all the time
hooked to T.V.sets and the computers. Parents should make an
effort of introducing their children to the world of books.
This should be started from a very young age. In fact children
are able to understand even if they are not able to speak. You
should start showing them picture books on animals, flowers and
fruits. These are the things they can easily identify and they will
be happy to browse through these books. Here are some steps
which you can followSome steps to make a child read
Buy some picture books
Buy some painting books
Make a scrap book by pasting pictures
Make a habit of showing the picture books or reading a story at
bed time.
Children like to mimic. If the parents have a regular habit of
reading child is sure to follow.
When the child grows up you should expose her to all types of
books. Joining a library would be good idea. A regular visit to
a book store would give an ample choice. Let the child browse
through a wide variety of books on various subject. Do not force
your choices on her .Let her choose according to her own liking.
You can describe a book you want her to read if she shows some
interest you can buy her the book. Spend time with your child to
make her understand the story. Answer her questions patiently.
Children are very curious and want to satisfy their curiosity.
Reading if cultivated as a hobby can make you a very well read
person and help you in all spheres of life

Advertising - Does it Matter?
Effective Goal Setting Tips
When advertising, you need to sell your opportunity, your
products and yourself. What sets you apart from everyone else?
Maybe you produce a newsletter with a specific content where
there is a demand from a particular group of people, or you
promote your own special product that no one have yet seen.
That’s a huge benefit! That’s what you need to sell in your ad
campaign, and those are the things you need to do in order to
become successful.
There are many ways that you can make sure you are happy
with the way that your life goes, and with what happens in it.
Having great goals is one of those ways, because goal setting
can be very important in making sure that you are happy with
your life.
You don’t have to be worried that success in network marketing
is difficult to achieve. It isn’t. Scores have done it. And if they
can do it, you can, too. In fact, it has never been easier to make a
decent second income or even a full time one. But it takes time,
persistence and uniqueness.
When you are able to do effective goal setting, you are going
to be able to be much happier. Goal setting is something that
will ultimately be the best way for you to succeed in life, so
you want to pay attention to the ways that you can set, and
meet great goals.
The people looking at your ads and reading your follow up letters
are going to judge you and your whole business not only by what
the materials have to say, but also by their appearance.
First of all, for effective goal setting, you want to be sure that
you start with some major, long term goals. It is important to
think about your life in terms of the future, and of what you
want to accomplish. In order to do goal setting correctly, think
first about where you want to end up. What do you want to
do in the future, and where do you see yourself in the future?
These are the questions that you should be asking so that you
can have effective goal setting. Once you know where you
want to end up, then take a look at your life now. Think about
how far you have to go to reach that ultimate goal.
Be sure you send a powerful, positive and convincing message.
Invest some time and money on your marketing materials, the
payoff will be well worth it. Look at others’ ads on the Internet,
see what’s attracting you; this will most likely attract others
too.
Do you see what I have in mind? Your advertising campaign will
be the propeller to your business success. By now you’d think
“How do I create one of those successful ads?” After all, it’s the
words that sell your opportunity. Write a good ad and it’ll take
you to the top. Read others’ ads, get some good ideas from them,
but don’t copy them, that’s theft. Just get some inspiration from
them. Let your friends take a look at your new written ad and say
what they think about it, honestly.
Now where to put your ad? If you place your ad in a pets
publication and the ad is promoting toys for children you might
not get a single response. But placed in the right publication it
will be a winner. It’s very important that you know from the
beginning exactly where to put your ad. Just think about you
having spent hours on that ad and then you put it in the wrong
publication and get no response at all, that’s a big waste of time
and effort.
My best advice is that you always work on your ads. Write them
down; leave them for some time, go back to look at them again.
Let others view them and after a while you will see the picture
of your ad and you will se if it’s going to work or not. If not then
you have to start from the beginning and write a new one and
follow the same procedure again. But now it’s easier because
you are deeply involved in the process.
The Internet is full of ads, start clicking around, this is the best
way to learn what is working and what is not. You probably can
tell instantly when an ad is good or not after a while.

Whatever your ultimate goal might be, now is the time to
think about how you can reach it. Part of what you want to
do is focus on how you can achieve your ultimate goal by a
series of steps. The best way to do effective goal setting once
you have your ultimate goal is to divide the necessary steps
that you need to take in order to reach your goal into a series
of smaller, easier to reach goals. These should be things that
you will be able to find yourself doing quite easily, and you
will be able to know for sure that these goals have been met.
If you have divided the path that you need to take for your
long term goal into a series of steps, you are going to find that
you can most easily focus on the ways that you will be able to
take those steps and meet your goals. This is very important,
as it is going to show you how to start to reach your goals.
Now that you’ve got a series of goals that you will want
to meet, you can begin to set sometime limits on them for
yourself. This will help to keep you honest and to make sure
that you are able to get everything accomplished that you
need to get accomplished in order to meet your goals.
Remember, as you work towards long term goals, you can
make sure that you are hitting your short term goals along the
way. Setting goes in series of short and long term points to
hit can help you make sure that you do everything you have
always wanted to do.

10 Easy and Natural Ways to Get Rid of Acne
Nicholas Ahern
Are you looking for acne solutions that really work? The good
news is, whether you’re a teenager or an adult suffering from
acne, you don’t have to live with it. Here you can find 10 super
easy and effective ways to get rid of acne.
1. Do not pick, press or rub your pimples. These actions actually
increase the sebum production and rupture the membranes below
your skin. The infection and sebum will spread underneath your
skin and cause more pimples. Also, you risk increasing the
chances of leaving scars on your face.
2. Wash your face twice a day using a mild soup. It is even better
if you can buy sulfur-based soap especially for acne. If your
skin is too oily, use a soap with benzoyl peroxide. Do not use
rough sponges, brushes, or anything similar on your face. You
shouldn’t, however, over-wash your face because it will actually
stimulate your sebaceous glands to produce more sebum which
will increase your acne.
3. Check if it is because of the food. For many people, food
allergy can cause very serious acne condition. You should avoid
eating too much oily and spicy food. Recent studies have shown
that acne can also be caused by milk which contains hormones as
well as seafood with relatively high levels of iodine. If possible,
cut down on those foods. Other foods you may consider avoiding
are: sugar, dairy products, deep-fried food, meat, nut butters, etc.
On the other hand, it is believed that green vegetables, vegetable
fuices and foods rich in zinc can help alleviate acne condition.
4. Drink more water every day. “Eight glasses of water a day can
keep acne away.” says Jennifer Thoden, a respected acne expert.
The reason is that water can carry waste material out of our body
and it really helps heal and prevent acne flare-ups.
Moon Magic
(Wed Oct 17th, 2007, by Rebecca Brents)
The Moon has a mystique all its own. It is often associated with secrecy and
mystery ... and is associated with strange, uncanny powers. It evokes a peculiar
range of responses in cultures everywhere, from curiosity and wonder, to
romance and affection, to awe and dread. In legend (and the lore of police
and hospital personnel), the Full Moon brings forth weird behaviors, extreme
reactions, and over-the-top emotional outbursts associated with no other time
on the calendar.
Folktales and superstitions tell of the Full Moon being the time when witches,
werewolves, goblins, ghosts, and vampires were able to penetrate “the other
realms” ... and walk on earth again -- creating problems and a fair amount of
fright, whether they were real or not. Dogs, wolves, and the coyotes here in
the desert howl mournfully at the Moon ... and the sound is certainly enough
to catch your attention, and prompt you to make sure all your doors are well
locked for the night.
Some people claim that the minds of the already unbalanced are “driven over
the edge” by the power of the Full Moon ... for reasons that remain a mystery ...
but the word “lunatic” as a designation for someone insane, has its roots in the
Latin word for Moon. In contemporary Spanish, La Luna ... is still the Moon.
On the other hand, people fall in love under the Full Moon. It’s hard to see
a beautiful yellow-gold Moon rising ... and not want to walk along the sea
shore ... or into the desert night ... hand-in-hand with the one you love. Love
songs and poems that evoke the magic imagery of the Moon are found in many
cultures and all through the generations.
5. Do not wear makeup if possible. Makeup products can clog
your pores, cause more blackheads and pimples. If you have
to wear makeup, make sure it is water-based. Be sure to clean
your makeup brushes regularly and cleanse your skin before you
sleep.
6. Do not use oily products. Avoid products such as hair pomades,
intense oil-based facial moisturizers, and oily cleansers.
7. Keep your face clean. Do not rest your chin on your hands or
constantly touch your face. Regular shampoo your hair and keep
it off your face, especially when you sleep.
8. Exercise moderately as it helps in blood circulation and
eliminataion of toxins.
9. Stay stress-free. Studies have shown that stress not only
worsens acne flare-up, it also worsens the overall skin condition.
Talk to your friends, listen to your favorite music, or take a walk
in the park. There are many things you can do to be stree free.
10. Get Sunshine and fresh air. Sunshine stimulates vitamin D
in the body, an essential vitamin for healthy skin. Fresh air and
sunshine can also reduce stress (tip #9) and increase oxygen to
the skin. Don’t get burnt in the sun though. Burnt and heavily
tanned skin forms a layer on the skin that doesn’t exfoliate
quickly enough and can lead to blocked pores.

Ancient cultures worshiped the Moon, and held ceremonies, rituals, and
festivals in its honor. Many contemporary primitive people continue to give the
Moon divine status. Mythologies speak of Moon Goddesses ... and even the
image evokes feelings of a powerful archetypal energy. The Moon influences
the tides. It influences the gravitational field of the earth. It influences the
fertility cycle in some (and maybe all) species.
In Astrology, the Moon is considered the second most important placement in
a Natal Chart and thus the second most powerful influence on and descriptor
of a person’s character. As I’ve said in many places and at many times, I’m not
sure you can set that kind of hierarchy ... because the Moon may be every bit
as important and essential as the Sun.
The Moon represents your emotional self, your inner self, your instincts,
habits, and automatic reactions. The sign it occupies in the Zodiac at any given
time will color your reactions, feelings and “personal responses” according
to the issues and characteristics represented by the sign involved. The Moon
changes signs every 2 1/2 days ... and keeping track of the Moon’s position in
its travels through your Natal Chart is one of the very best ways I know to stay
in touch with the currents of your own emotional flow.
