COURSE DESCRIPTION!
This three day course covers the anatomy,
biomechanics and component motions of the
shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle
joints. The accessory movements for each joint
are presented and examined along with any
other special tests that pertain to that joint.
Treatment techniques are presented for each
joint that are designed to restore the accessory
movements needed for normal and painless joint
function. The primary treatment techniques
covered in this course include a combination of
joint mobilization techniques and, where
applicable, muscle energy techniques. The
participant will also be introduced to the concept
of examining joints and articulating surfaces
along their lines of force and utilizing recoil
mobilization techniques to address any
restrictions found in a joint or in the lines of force
in the bone around it.

COURSE OBJECTIVES!
For the course participant to:
**Understand the functional anatomy,
biomechanics and component motions of each
of the peripheral joints.
**Be able to perform a physical examination of
each of the peripheral joints and identify, when
present, a loss of accessory movement in that
joint.
**Be able to correlate any abnormal accessory
joint motion with functional limitations.
**Be able to treat, utilizing joint mobilization,
recoil mobilization or muscle energy techniques,
any dysfunction found in a peripheral joint.
**Understand the difference between isometric
versus isotonic muscle energy techniques in the
treatment of peripheral joint dysfunction.
